For some reason this one at the end made me laugh: That's the Sunderland I know and begrudgingly love.

Putting aside the CB issue, it really does look early doors like Les has signed an absolute monster in Gabbiadini, without getting fleeced during the notoriously difficult January transfer window. He and the club deserve credit for that. You just have to look at West Ham's repeatedly embarrassing efforts to bring in multiple strikers of varying incompetence to appreciate this.

I'm not bothered by Man U but any supporter who has an "I'm better than you because my team is bigger and has won more things" attitude really gets my goat. Also I can only find the energy to hate one team at a time and right now it's still Everton following their supporters' delusional gloating during the Koeman debacle last summer.

It sounds highly speculative to me. I'm not an expert on Premier League player contracts by any stretch of the imagination but you would have thought that Les could have signed him up but made the whole contract subject to getting a valid work permit.

I miss the 5 (now 6) nations. Can't ever seem to find it on TV over here.

The Sunderland supporters were all over the ref in the second half, but we won so he must have been good.

Sunderland were so confident going into this game. Football has a habit of kicking you in the nuts when you think things are going your way. I'm very happy with the result. Romeu was great in midfield, Yoshida and Stephens solid but not tested that much, Tadic had a good game and Gabbiadini appears to be a stud.
