  1. These things are so much less black and white than you're making out. A young player can easily be led/persuaded by an agent into making a move when they didn't really want to. They may even think they've made the decision themselves but were in fact guided into it. It's simply way too cynical to think that players only ever say positive things about staying at their current club as a cover for their desire to leave. They can easily just not say they want to stay, and often do. Anyway, it's equally plausible that Newcastle and Saints have cooked up the transfer and both Tino and the agent are just going along with it as they have no other option
  2. It's easily possible that Newcastle, Southampton and possibly his agent have cooked it up without the player being particularly keen
  3. I'm also baffled that there isn't interest in KWP. He'll only have a year left on his contract next summer so it will cost us more to keep him
  4. Depends if he fancies it but surely a good team in Europe would like him
  5. Tino needs games to get back up to speed after a serious injury. Fighting for his place at a Champions League club is not going to be good for him, and indeed is why he left Chelsea in the first place. I'm baffled that we're selling for £30m when we could keep him for a season and get the same fee, and the player doesn't seem desperate to move. UNLESS we think the injury has permanently affected his abilities
  6. My interpretation was that he was burnt out after a long season playing in a system that asked him to cover a lot of ground. Either way, his legs were very much intact
  7. If we're in serious financial trouble then we really shouldn't sell early for knock down prices
  8. Bazunu needs a season or two out of the team to work on his game and build his confidence
  9. I don't think it is one or the other really. Just as our defence will find it easier to cover our goalkeeper, our midfield will find it easier to support our strikers by creating chances. Remember the vital points that Kelvin won us against Leeds in the promotion season? We just need to strengthen the areas that need strengthening
  10. Leicester buying Vestergard and Bertrand from us is still hilarious
  11. Remember when people on here were convinced that Stu was homesick and wanted to go back to Scotland?
  12. Sure but you wouldn't sell him either in case he can get his form back
  13. Chances of leaving this summer IMO Alex McCarthy – 50% 2. Kyle Walker-Peters – 95% 4. Lyanco Vojnovic - 70% 5. Jack Stephens – 50% 6. Duje Ćaleta-Car - 70% 7. Joe Aribo - 50% 8. James Ward-Prowse – 60% 9. Adam Armstrong - 10% 10. Ché Adams - 90% 12. Paul Onuachu - 80% 14. James Bree - 1% 15. Romain Perraud - 50% 17. Stuart Armstrong – 50% 18. Sékou Mara - 40% 19. Moussa Djénépo – 50% 20. Kamaldeen Sulemana - 40% 21. Tino Livramento - 40% 22. Mohammed Salisu - 85% 23. Samuel Edozie - 5% 26. Carlos Alcaraz - 40% 27. Ibrahima Diallo - 50% 28. Juan Larios - 15% 31. Gavin Bazunu - 10% 35. Jan Bednarek - 50% 37. Armel Bella-Kotchap - 80% 45. Roméo Lavia - 95% Will Smallbone – 10% Nathan Tella - 60% Ryan Manning - 0% Shea Charles - 0%
  14. No his positioning was terrible in the Championship too. I can vividly remember him exposing us in the defensive line. We were just good enough that we could carry him for his attacking abilities. I was amazed when we carried on playing him in the Premier League
  15. Really promising signing. Hopefully our recruitment has turned a corner

  17. And Arsenal are paying big money to get the deal done early
  18. And be away from his 5yo son all week? Not everyone is up for that
  19. Plus a £25m-£30m transfer fee and all the other club costs we need to cover
  20. That said, if the ownership feel they can afford to keep JWP then all good. I just wouldn't hold it against them if they need to sell
  21. You can say that about so many things but if we didn't get promoted then it would be very bad news. We have to make sensible financial decisions and do enough to get promoted at the same time
  22. The thing is I wonder if JWP's wages are so big, even after the relegation cut, that we may need to get him off the wage bill. With him being 29 this year and never the paciest to start with, we may take a lowish bid. £30m does sound right but if we haven't shifted him by the end of the window, who knows
  23. Aribo and Sulemana were the failures. Edozie did what was expected of him
  24. Is Ings really dropping down a level? Surely he's still good enough for the Prem, albeit at the bottom end
  25. Quite often people are good at interviews but not the actual job
