Half the stadium. Carlisle fans are moaning about their allocation??! WTF  -
LOL - You lost me with that last comment about knowing plenty of protestant Celtic fans. I hate to spoil your idealist world, but the hatred between Southampton and Portsmouth is one which is felt by many. Look at the people who were causing trouble on Saturday, alot of them were 'shirters' or 'beer monsters' who normally would not go for that kind of trouble but their pure hatred meant things spilled over. And I can promise you that 95% of Saints fans would always want P*mpey to fail in any competition they entered. Oh sh!t, I have just fallen for your trolling.
-
I didn't say they loved each other did I? A quick Google search brings up articles putting our derby right up there... took me all of 30 seconds to find this piece.... http://www.oleole.com/blogs/twohundredpercent/posts/the-top-ten-british-rivalries http://www.footballtransfertavern.com/uncategorised/top-ten-derbies-in-the-premier-and-football-league http://www.armchairfans.co.uk/derbies.html You are absolutely deluded if you think that the hatred between Southampton and P*rtsmouth is friendly banter.
-
So, can you give me the history between these derbies? And explain to me how they have more than Southampton v Portsmouth?
-
Another example of my hatred... once went out and got battered, met this VERY nice looking bird (well by my standards ) , she lived in Bedford Place. I had ran out of money so thankfully crashed at hers. About 4 in the morning she made the announcement she was 1) A student ( reason enough to dislike the c*nt ) and 2) From P*rtsmouth. With that, I went into the front room, took my taxi fare out of her purse and f"cked off... denying myself of an otherwise pleasant f"ck. Thats hatred.
-
No. I have one female friend who supports P*mpey. She only supports them through family so I can bear to be her mate as I don't have to have 'football chat' with her. Some people, yourself included, live in a fantasy world where everyone lives in this happy little world and Saints and P*mpey fans mix together and are best of buddies. That is wrong, for every Saints fan that thinks it's 'good to have a local rival' , there is at least 1 more who f*cking hates every last bit of them.
-
Followed on from another thread, what lengths do you go to when hating our neighbours? I am in my 30's and have been to P*rtsmouth 5 times. 4 times for football. 1 time to go to the DVLA office. I never have and never will shop in P*rtsmouth and most definately will never eat/drink there. I am alone in this? Some of the PC brigade seem to think that we don't have that much of a rivalry.
-
Care to give me examples of other derbies which have more history... when I say history, I mean pure dislike for the other town as well as the football team.
-
Erm... I didn't compare our rivalry to the Old Firm Rivalry... I spent almost a year in Belfast pre-good Friday agreement, so I am fully aware where that rivalry stems from and that it is religion based. You can draw one comparison between the two though... and that is the two rivalries are not one that has been invented since football... the rivalries date back to before football was invented. Yes, yes I know you will spin the yarn about some people watching both teams post-war... it didn't stop the two cities hating each other though. The Hampshire Derby has more history than 95% of the derbies. Whenever there is a survey of the top derbies, most fierce/bitter etc in the country, you can guarantee that Southampton v Portsmouth will always be on the list. You are not the only one who speaks to people all over the country on a daily basis by the way, sorry to dissapoint you.
-
I am ashamed to say I do have one P*mpey fan on my facebook friends list. She's a bird though.
-
In the same way that nobody gives a f*ck down here about Newcastle v Sunderland or Celtic v Rangers etc... it doesn't stop everyone in the country knowing that our rivalry is one of the fiercest and bitter out of them all. Why do you think almost every team sings about P*mpey at SMS? Surely they would need to know about our rivalry to sing it? Why does almost every single Saints v P*mpey game get chosen to be screened on Sky? For pure built in hatred, it is right up there with Millwall and West Ham, Leeds and Manchester United and Cardiff and Swansea. That programme on BBC1 just a minute ago confirmed that.
-
You could do with watching Inside Out South when it comes on the iPlayer... you might well notice then that the hatred running between Southampton and P*rtsmouth is not the majority, like some of the deluded people on here think... Southampton and P*mpey is one of the fiercest rivalries in the country. FACT
-
Exactly. That's something I would watch again and again.
-
That is a complete load of cr@p. The Southampton v Portsmouth derby is known across the country... did you miss all the national attention on the tie when the balls were drawn out? I haven't condoned anything, just simply stated that you are completely over-reacting if you honestly think there is even the slightest chance that Liebherr will pull his funding based on a few stoned being chucked. The police are to blame for the trouble in Britannia Road for being naive enough to think they could let P*rtsmouth fans out at the same time as Saints fans.
-
LOL It's time some of you stopped being such soppy gits. Do you honestly believe Liebherr is going to leave because a few stones got thrown in one of the fiercest rivalries in England? Get a life.
-
Few 5 o'clock knocks on their way I think.
-
They won't get the money anyway, there is no way the EPL will aid a club to trade whilst insolvent. P*mpey will go out of business on Friday and they will be forgotton by the end of the season.
-
We came to an agreement with Arsenal with regards to them settling the loan early. P*rtsmouth are trading whilst insolvent and they should not be helped out to continue... and they won't thankfully. What are you going to do for money in a few months time then? Corp... please be honest with yourself just for one minute, wake up and smell the coffee... P*mpey are not going to get bought out, your only chance would have been a super rich fan... you are not a Premier League club in the eyes of an investor, you are a Championship club which has a very limited earning potential and in need of a MASSIVE cash injection to get you up to even the standard of us in terms of playing and training facilities and general infrastructure. Palace or Cardiff for £10-15 million or P*mpey for £100 million... What do you reckon?
-
I was thinking that. Everything and anything seems to be coming through ESPN now.
-
Yes there is. He is a c*nt of the highest order and I am glad he felt intimidated when he came to St Marys. Infact the only bad point is that someone didn't give him a slap whilst they were there.
-
Diddums.
-
Definately. 30k guaranteed. Who is not going to go to the Final when they went to the area final. Then there's the ones that didnt get tickets. Then there's the ones that can't make midweekers. Then there's the corporates. Then there's the people of Southampton, you have to remember that Wembley trips drag out even the slightest Saints fans, it's just as much a day for the city as it is a day for the club. Realistically we will shift about 50k, possibly more.
-
There are just over 2200 season ticket holders and the allocation is 20,000... that's why they are allowed to buy up to 9.
-
Them batons the mounted police had were fookin massive!!!
