  1. thing is when you look at the goals conceded other than spuds first one i am struggling to think of one that he should have saved, still nothing has changed in 54 years of support if saints concede goals it is the keepers fault and the other 10,we defend from the front routine, are being let down by the keeper. imo individual defensive errors are leaving him exposed at the moment
  2. and what other club could lose top 2 keepers and still perform to the same standard, i am not saying he is any good but feel it is entirely wrong to blame him. Also our defensive record has gone to pot since Jos returned, the Newcastle goal was down to his miss kick, and Victor stopped protecting the back 4 with real muscle
  3. and our other options until January are ?
  4. i just do not think it is his fault, he needed to be out on loan learning his trade, the best keepers are in there 30's and have played hundreds of games, he had no chance to do anything about the last 2 goals today. Blaming a goalkeeper is an easy way out, to cover up the cracks elsewhere. Today we were out run/muscled in midfield by a side with lots of experience but the easy option is to blame the keeper who should not be in that position
  5. will be putting padlocks on my hub gaps before next week

  7. he was over in the Chapel/Kingsland corner signing autographs for 10 minutes at around 12.50, should have been in the warm so he is available for Boxing Day, which imo is more important that todays game
  8. why did this thread not appear after we drew with Man City, not sure if any club has 3 super star goalkeepers
  9. this thread always appears when we lose, funny thing is 25000 of the crowd are probably the same as when we win.
  10. totally agree about Gazza, he is 3rd choice and today had no protection down the left. bigger worry for me is what has happen to Rickie, he has never had pace but his touch got him out of trouble, that seems to have deserted him, after saying that I would have taken 9th at Christmas back in August
  11. Got Complimentary away tickets from Peter Wells back in the days, used to have a pint with him on a Sunday night, top bloke
  12. sorry I did not despise Lowe because he wanted the Club to live within its means. I despised him because of the way he arrived at the Club and because Askham grabbed the chance to earn a few bob for himself, Lowe and a few others without thinking about the long term good of the Club. The Academy for Lowe was a means to keep the Club solvent, the Academy still has an important role in the Club finances but it is now about improving the first team, which will bring financial rewards, rather than just the rewards.
  13. great day the good feeling that goal, its timing with the skates singing "scummers scummers here we come" stays with me to this day
  14. Just hope Adam had a good wash when he got home
  15. if Gaston played regularly the time he had the ball would drop by 10%
  16. disagree they were not put in, we kept checking back, the 2 times Fonte and Clyne delivered early we scored
  17. I was disappointed with Luke Shaw, seemed reluctant to take full back on especially in 2nd half, not sure if he is carrying a knock
  18. not the way we play, creative players give the ball away to much. Tactic is to retain the ball which, in theory, should reduce the chances of conceding, Problem is the unexpected like last night where we concede 3 when they only had 23%.
  19. most of which poorly delivered
  20. 95% Agree 5% is we do not cross enough , time after time Lambert gets behind small full back but rather than cross ball is checked back out and danger moment has gone
  21. glad there was no internet when I was young, just blo*dy enjoy the football, you never know when bad times are round the corner, stop analysing every detail. now who was singing out of tune Sunday ?
  22. who is not as good as he thinks he is
  23. remember it well 2 great games, bit of a battle down Hill Lane afterwards and then back into the parks
  24. would fit into any Saints team of any era. Hat Trick against the Skates at The Dell in 4 -0 win was a good day
