Agreed loans have to better than what we have already, lets continue improving first 11 rather than that old failed policy of adding lesser players to a squad
-
agreed Leon is a true saints fan, thick or thin, never saw the club as a money making machine like rupert and wilde
-
just got in, absolute professional performance, i have been priveledged to watch some great saints sides over the last 54 years and this lot are forcing their way into that level. Noticed a few regular posters missing tonight, of course even they would look stupid knocking that display
-
Not convinced MP wants an attacking midfield player, not sure how that fits with the current team method
-
Stupid time to kick off a football match
-
Two for us old ones not already mentioned Paine against Charlton in 66 at the Dell Moran at Fratton Final thought two others Terry Curran against Leeds at THe Dell in 1978 League Cup Semi Barry Horne against Bolton
-
disagree that as better title "getting a lot better" has been doing what he did yesterday all season, just that it is only now being appreciated as people realise we are playing different style this season

interesting topic, my own view is the fault lays with the professional clubs not grass roots football, for years the so called best talent has been "pinched"by Academies, who apparently have the best coaches in the country. So why do we fail as a nation? Perhaps because those professional academies coach all the individual flair out of players and then discard them, imo no player should be allowed to go to a professional academy until they are 13. Let them play with their mates, put the money saved by the academies into increasing Grass Roots coaching, not only numbers but standards, making level 2 more affordable because that is where the coaching becomes about how to play

what is really strange is when it hits you that within 15 yards of where you sit are at least 6 others who have over 50 years of support, we are the true "Golden Generation"
-
We would rather be called "Southampton Old Boys"
-
thing that always makes me laugh is in the anti-capaitalist rallies the yobs are there with there scaffold poles and crash helmets, me at nearly 60 cannot take a plastic bottle top into SMS or go to an away game at Fratton without a CRB check. football fans are easy targets

catering at football used to be a packet of crisps and a warm pint,in a bar no bigger than my living room in the Milton

Two things Not sure what you mean by click, we are playing differently with games more likely to be one nil than 4-3, so i feel we have clicked. J Rod instead of who,
-
he was at SMS this afternoon, arrived about 12.45 in Chapel Car park
-
Interesting people still saying not playing well, imo they need to understand that MP realises that free flowing football leads to 4-3 defeats, whereas filling the midfield with runners, tacklers etc leads to 2-0 home victories. Keep grinding out the results

Daring to dream - What would we need to do to reach the Champions League?

used to think like that many years ago, thing is games become meaningless, give me the buzz of the last 3 seasons where every game counts -

Think it will be slightly different this year as a lot of teams have got nearer to the top 4, who have not improved as much, champions may have a few more defeats
