  1. Dreadful? I thought Stu was very good off the bench. He caused them lots of problems and was dynamic and purposeful. Not sure he could have done much more. Perhaps you can't give subs high marks, as short cameos can be misleading, but I'd give him an 8. How you ca describe him as dreadful I don't know. Not sure what you were/are expecting from Sulemena. He absolutely skinned their left back on two occasions using his skill and pace getting to the byeline and creating an opportunity. Maybe there wasn't a goal at the end of it, but at least he made something happen and got us up the pitch in an instant. Thought Edozie did OK too. He certainly wasn't dreadful.
  2. I agree its a pen, but I would like to add that it wasn't simply a moment of stupidity, it was a consequence of Cobern dominating THB for an hour. If you watch the game again, you will see that Cobern won headers, held the ball up, outmuscled THB and controlled the game from the front. As a result, when the ball came into the box that time, THB knew he was in trouble, couldn't physically prevent him backing into him, holding the ball up and inevitably having a great chance to score, so he did everything he possibly could to stop it, which meant grabbing and pulling him. Cobern did pull his shirt too, so I can see why THB complained, but the foul was more desperation than stupidity.
  3. He runs his heart out, so at least leads by example - not that I think that should be applauded. Every player should do that. Not sure Che brings anything to the party. He's been here a while and is older than a few others. Great. I've said it before many times, IMO it makes fucks all difference who actually wears the armband. Messi says fuck all, but didn't stop Argentina winning the world cup. You just need a few players in the side/squad with strong characters that help motivate the others and players that, when the chips are down, won't give up. Switch the captaincy to Bednarek or whoever and it will change fuck all.
  4. was a big fan of Jack Russell behind the stumps.
  5. you've got me there. I missed the goal, because I only started watching from about 20 minutes in. Did he take it well? He certainly didn't look like scoring in the remaining 75 minutes. I just saw a guy looking to pass (the buck) rather than create a yard and shoot. No one looked like scoring. We created fuck all. Again.
  6. you want to play Armstrong and Alcaraz up front? For me, Alcaraz should play in the hole. AArmstrong just doesn't look like he has the confidence to score goals anymore. It might return, but when?
  7. Fair point. Forgot Mara was on the bench. On reflection I would have done the same. AArmstrong lacks bottle. He has lost whatever he had. He's a busted flush.
  8. Alcaraz is not a striker.
  9. Adams was utter shite. Moving Armstrong into the middle didn't make us worse. Didn't make us better mind. I have no issue with the subs.
  10. Alcaraz can be a slight risk to be fair. He plays some bloody terrible passes that can leave you massively exposed. although that could be said about the whole team right now. He's can play, but equally he can go completely missing too. I don't have an issue with him not starting games at the minute, but he needs to get back in the side and thrive for us to thrive you'd think.
  11. The subs weren't bizarre IMO. Holgate offered us nothing, so Manning coming on made total sense. He broguht Edozie, Sullemana and Amstrong on and they all made us way better. Maybe they should have started, but the subs were correct. Aribo or Alcaraz...not sure it makes a huge difference. Alcaraz hasn't exactly lit the place up when coming off the bench in recent games.
  12. we certainly didn't look in total control when thy were four vs one when breaking from our corner.
  13. Yeah he's great, but we have four CBs that are better. What a ringing endorsement. Perhaps he's top notch - I've only seen a few games this season - but Coburn totally dominated him today. Made him look lightweight. That is a concern.
  14. Why didn't Burnley sign him?
  15. there was a move in the second half where Manning came all the way across, picked the ball up in central midfield and we played through them and this started a good attack down the right wing. At that moment you could see perhaps what RM is after, but I can't say I saw an improvement.
  16. What do you see in THB? He is pretty comfortable on the ball and can ping a pass, but equally he can put us in real trouble with other passes. I'm concerned about just how lightweight he looks. He isn't all that big, strong or quick. Nathan Wood looked a better physical specimen, but I guess we couldn't force Swansea to sell.
  17. season feels strangely familiar to when Bagpuss was at the helm in the championship. We were going down until Burley's side when on a run. We might need a run like that again. I wouldn't fancy playing the skates right now with this side. Bypassing them might be a blessing.
  18. I wanted him sold - mostly because he will walk for free and next summer we will have £0 to spend - but having kept him, I expected him to bully CBs, hold the ball up and get us up the pitch. He hasn't done that at all yet.
  19. we should have spent that extra money and got the Andy Reid deal done. Actually, I think the real problem was allow Chris Nicholl to go...
  20. I know it will get lost in the eventual it was all Baz's fault, but i want to highlight again just how much THB was dominated by Cobern. He made Bellis look small, weak and slow. He ragdolled him all game which led to Bellis having to drag him down for the pen. Very worrying just how poor he, manning and holgate have been so far.
  21. How Fraser gets into the side ahead of those guys I will never know.
  22. to be fair, we kept Adams. Everyone on here seemed desperate to keep him rather than collect the £15m we could invest in a new striker (that wont walk on a free in the summer). He's been shit so far.
  23. Dont agree with this. He skinned his fullback a couple of times to make something happen. I've questioned his attitude, but he did more in 20 minutes than Frazer in 70.
  24. By and large the summer signings have looked very poor. Not impressed by Manning, THB, Holgate, Downes and Fraser at all. Thought Charles was OK today, but not seen enough of him in Cm.
  25. *Cough Lavia and JWP. Alcaraz was hit and miss last season and the same this. He's a fan darling cos he scored a few goals, but some games he was a like ghost. When he gives the ball away no one highlights it, but he does give it away a fair bit and goes missing defensively. He can play, but I can see why he has been dropped.
