If we haven't got most of the way through a transfer negotiation for a player by now, it's not going to happen today.
-
and if we don't get promoted, seeing a £15m aset walk for nothing will be painful. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Still time for him to sign for Wolves.
-
four years in the Prem and he's worth the same we paid for him after one good season in the Championship - all be it he's only got a year left.
-
not our fault no one is willing to give us a poxy £15m for him.
-
German window closes earlier, right?
-
Depends which came first, not selling Che or not buying Stewart. You are assuming Stewart failed his medical. Possibly the Che deal is the issue, not the Stewart deal. We are in Wolves hands here. And they haven't got any money. If no one buys Che then he doesn't need replacing. A cock up would have been buying a striker and then getting stuck with Che too.

Everton bid £25.7m for Gnonto. Wonder how much they have bid for Sulemena. Might be time for us to blink.
-
Does Stewart now need to go sit in his car in the car park Peter Odemwingie style?
-
And I was just sayind how Stewart to Saints is probably considered `done and dusted' on this forum and we've all moved on the next rumour. That will learn us.

more a sandwich filler than an condiment.

He's just seeing the Che story and assuming the Stewart deal is off. Depends if the Stewart deals depends on Che leaving. Is that the case?
-
"Onuachu set to depart". I assume Genk, but the out of the blue Metz story in L'Equipe creates some doubt.

If there was genuine interest from Athletico, the last thing I'd be doing was signing a long term contract with an english second division side. Sit tight, wait for Athletico to come back in for you (I think it's probably called doing a `Gakpo' these days). No doubt every European scout will take a look at him over the next few months too. If the interest from Athletico is bollocks, then it's a different story.

we pay Swansea £12m for Woods and they spend £8m of it on Edwards perhaps? Or is that figure too low? £8m feels high for a Swansea fee.
-
Sky saying Swansea interested in (and may have bid for) Ronnie Edwards. Did they need another CB? Wood still departing or has THB signing put that possible move to bed?
-
I know the Ross Stewart signing is a `done' deal on here, but I see that the Sunderland deal for Nazariy Rusyn is all done bar the shouting, which was required for Stewart to be sold, I think.
-
8 hours. Does that mean most deadline day moves are all actually agreed the day before? Or do some moves happen without a medical?
-
I think the last article I read said West Ham wanted a fee for him. I can't see them getting a fee and someone paying/matching all his wages. Never gonna happen.
-
we should make them put the new stadium up as security. Would be nice to someday be their landlords.
-
what a boost. Everyone at the club, the whole city would be energised I suspect, knowing we are going all in. dreaming...
-
makes sense, but does Dyche like him?
-
he might, but how on earth do you make the financials work? His wage is astronomical for a Championship club and he has two years left. Just can't see how it would work. Are any prem sides really interested in him? His wages will be too big for most of them too.

I have to say, at the start of the summer I never expected us to make a profit on him. Thank god Liverpool put out their reserves and played like they were on holiday. The goals he scored in that game really will have helped give Everton (who probably wanted him themselves in January) confidence that he could do it at this level. He could still become a £50m player. But not for us.
