  1. just seen his stats on wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameron_Archer 101 goals in 9 games for Villa. £20m really is cheap. Seriously though, he does looks a very exciting player in his highlights video.
  2. If he is as good as Messi, then £20m seems a bargain.
  3. Decent shout. He will cost £20m apparently. Two footed, skllful and very sharp, if this video is anything to go by. Only issue would be that he's not very tall, so isn't going to offer us an arial threat.
  4. that maths works well, until you don't get promoted, and then the reward is not having £15m to buy a striker next summer. Sell and replace with someone just as effective is the way to do it. However, its very difficult to find that guy.
  5. Has he checked out or did he just not have a good game? Ideal player for a lot of Prem clubs, but they wont get him cheap.
  6. Yes.
  7. Everton obviously want him, but seem to have buttons to spend, so it's not certain they will meet the valuation. Bournemouth don't seem to have same money issues, but are they really in for him? We shall see.
  8. We offered he a new deal while we were in the Prem. He turned it down. He ain't signing a new deal for us.
  9. No idea what their third division is like, but in those clips he plays like knows he is better than his opponents.
  10. Says a man that knows the Rangers deal ain't happening. Strange that considering he doesn't want the move, these stories keep appearing in the press. The journalists aren't coming up with these stories on their own. Either his agent is placing them or his club is placing them. The Rangers link was last December, so things could well have changed by now anyway. Got to say that his highlights video looks interesting.
  11. Probably cos Jones was sacked two games into Onuachu's Saints career.
  12. Fair point. Availability is certainly a factor, just like price. Limitations on both lead you to signing worse players. No doubt about it. Onuachu was driven by Jones' specification. Onuachu doesn't come here with any other Manager at the helm. He didn't identify him, but he wanted a big lad that does x, y, z...whatever that was (I don't know, as he is shit at so many things).
  13. Like Chrissy Marsden football genius? To be fair, Grimes has continually improved as a player, but I'm with you, he's not some kind of genius. I'm not entirely certain he improves us.
  14. No shit. I've been posting 'Che will leave, Piroe will replace him' all summer. There is just too much logic too it.
  15. Been saying it all summer. All of em (premiership quality) will depart. Che out, Piroe in has been on the cards since Martin joined us. Last year of contract, didn't sign a deal with us while we were in the Prem, wants to be in the Prem, had wages cut...I'm surprised he's still here. As with Ings, from a business perspective, you have to sell and reinvest. Doesn't mean it will work out, but you have to try. Allowing a £12m asset to disappear for free can't be allowed to happen in the championship.
  16. A guy we had tried to sign a couple of times prior? It wasn't random, lacking thought (scouting) or even panic, it just didn't work out. We had a need at CM and he provided some extra cover at fullback too, that we also wanted. I suspect the AMN loan deal took a while to put together too, like most transfers. They may appear out of nowhere to fans, and at last minute, but will have taken a while to arrange behind the scenes. When Piroe replaces Che, next week, it won't have been a last minute thing. We will have started discussions months before. The moves we make are not 'random', they are just not always good decisions.
  17. What is a random loan? Is Downes one of these `random loans' you mention? Terms like scattergun and random are meaningless. All that matters is if the loans bring in players that are good and perform well.
  18. maybe the fact they still have five CBs on their books explains why they also have not signed Harwood-Bellis either.

    Lyanco

Lyanco departs and so does his wage and first team shirt, allowing us to bring in someone else. I'm sure he will give his all when called upon.
  20. With a career in the media a good possibility as he speaks very well, unlike some of the clowns employed these days.

    Flynn Downes

is his delay to flush out other suitors?
  22. cause and effect.
  23. interesting that Timber (who is a CB that can play right back) was playing left back when he got injured and they brought on another right back to replace him in Tomiyasu. They perhaps could do with another left back, especially if Tierney should depart. They do have Zinchenko and Taveres already. Jakub Kiwior, a Polish international who they signed in January, plays CB and left back too. They played Partey at right back, and have played White there a lot, so a right back might be needed too if they have zero faith in our mate Cedric. KWP's flexibility might be ideal, but they seem to have a lot of options, some better than others. Will they take to a Spurs old boy not called Campbell?
  24. For me, he still looks a little clumsy at full back. Kind of like a CB playing out there, a bit like Lyanco. Not horrible, but not brilliant either. He's a big strong lad, and there are ball skills, so maybe there is still time. Slightly disappointing he is not pushing for a spot and with him in his last year of his contract, he's going to have to play well if it he goes out on loan to get another contract.
  25. Yes. We may have forked out a small fortune for him. When Spurs tried to sign him from us for about a million (I might be wrong on that), we turned the offer down.
