Why would they just accept our valuation? I'm not saying it's wrong, but they may feel we have been asking too much all along. Who knows. He wants the move. The new contract. He doesn't care what saints get paid. If the move falls through he could well blame us.
-
Good chance he tries to force the issue (assuming LFC still want him). That's the usual step when a player feels the selling club is getting in the way of the players 'progress'. His head will have been turned. Very hard to see himself playing for us this season.
-
Wonder if he will blame SFC more? Wonder if it's just a placed story to force our hand?
-
The lad will be devastated if a move doesn't happen. It will take some management to get him firing. No idea how trustworthy the report is, but what a turnup.
-
Is Bree dismal or a good lad? He seems keen to be here and wear the shirt.

Our CM just got a whole lot better this afternoon it seems. If Lavia doesn't depart the bean counters are going to have to work overtime.

I don't think some of these posters were around when we were relegated last time. We were a complete mess, financially crippled and with cuntflaps at the helm desperate to get out. I went up to Luton for the first away game where we got our asses handed to us. It didn't get better. We were fortunate that Burley turned it around. I'm hopeful that we will compete for promotion, but even if we don't, I can't see us being as bad as last time. If I am brutally honest, I'm quite enjoying all the transfer speculation even if most is about departures. Football is a soap opera and this is part of the show.

How do you know? We've only played one game at this level. Wonder if Burnley fans were thinking 'we've got the best defence in the league' after one game.
-
His wage was cut significantly due to not playing enough games last season. Let's just pretend he got an additional 40% relegation reduction too.
-
Not sure the injury will put clubs off. They will be signing him for three or four years service. I really hope he stays as he offers the pace we need.
-
'supposed' is the key word here. Have we really missed out on anyone? If Aaron's is the example, then I'd argue he was leaving Norwich for the Prem.
-
You say we're not selling 10+, but you've named about 7 or 8 above. You can add Orsic, Diallo and DCC. Maybe not our best, but certainly first team squad. We've obviously released AMN, Theo and Eli too. So that's going to be well over ten first team squad players that will have departed. McCarthy is still a possibility to go as is Onuachu. Not sure about Lyanco. ABK is difficult to judge due to the injury. (If all went, that's about 17 or 18). None of these departures are/would be a surprise. I'm not concerned because it's what I expected. Concern will come if the four or five coming in don't shine at this new level. Hopefully they all work out well

I don't build Saints players up anymore, so when they go, it's no big deal. I knew he would depart and don't blame him for doing so. I am concerned what we will have in the middle. Smallbone couldn't lace his boots right now.

What has being a non starter at a prem side got to do with the amount of effort he puts in for Saints? I'm not sure his effort was ever questioned at West ham. He hasn't quite been good enough to conquer the Prem. But we are in the championship. Who are you expecting us to sign? If they are good enough for the Prem...they will be in the Prem.

I was joking because I predicted/suggested a while back that Chelsea would/could come in with a £60m and blow Liverpool away. If course there is no need to do so.
-
Lavia and JWp saw us to bottom.

"We don't need to sell for financial reasons" most certainly has been said on here.
-
I've always thought/said we would lose them all. I still think that.
-
An Adams 'upgrade' to Piroe seems destined to me. I'm sure this will happen. I'd love to bring Collins' confidence to our club. Big step up. A little worried that we lose the Tella/Sulemana pace though.
-
You actually thought we wouldn't be selling these guys?
-
I really like the look of Aaron Collins. He looked big, strong and brimming with confidence. Some of his assists last year showed a wand of a left foot. Rovers play him out wide at times, so may not quite fit our set up (don't know).Doesn't have real pace and it would be a new level, so a slight gamble. £4m is not a huge fee if our scouts think he can do it in the championship.
-
Seems like five minutes ago since Villa offered £25m and we all laughed. This ain't much more than that. ...and people on here say there aren't financial reasons for player sales. Deluded.
-
Disappointed. I thought Chelsea would just come in and blow Liverpool out the water with their bid. This doesn't sound like it even meets our £50m requirement. They've let me down.
-
He won't be a bit part. No reason West Ham can't be top half. West Ham fans will love him too if he is successful. He doesn't want to play in the championship. He's a Prem player. It's beneath him. Personally, I think it's a no brainer' move. Also, if he was on £100k week and cut by 40%, his move has earned him over £6m over the next three years.
-
Don't think they are, are they? I haven't been a fan as yet (not seen him this season), but he will still need replacing should he go.
