  1. Not looked at other third choice keepers in the championship. Are they usually old pros or inexperienced nippers?
  2. Happy days
  3. Must of taken all of Blackmore's journalistic talents to unearth that nugget.
  4. Decent summary. Basically, selling Lavia and Jwp solves a lot of our financial ills. You never know, maybe we can start paying off that £70m bank loan. We won't get all the £45m for lavia of course as City take a chunk, perhaps of the profit. DCC price seems to be €5m, so a little less in pounds sterling. The parachute is closer to £45m I think than £50m. The new players will also want paying.
  5. Transfermakt has it as €15m. I think they often seem to use the figure Fab does. Sky don't have a clue. Not sure about Blackmore.
  6. Not sure that matters much as no one has to sell to them after their own window closes.
  7. Both have struggled to contain premiership attackers. The errors they made have been punished ruthlessly at that level. In the championship the attackers aren't as good and when they make an error it won't always see the ball end up in the back of the net. They may be good enough for the championship. Most CBs are pretty shit at that level. My major concern is whether they win enough headers. Pretty basic stuff, but essential.
  8. Also, From a marketing/news/TV standpoint, the Prem league probably wants to separate the first game of the season from the last day of the transfer window.
  9. Absolutely. Hold out for £40m so we actually see £30m.
  10. These additional comments made by West Ham attached to an official bid are probably just made up by 'journalists'.
  11. Bogarde? From Villa. Or Aaron Collins? Both worth considering. Bogarde is young and has a lot of potential. Collins is a late bloomer that just seemed to click last season. Lovely left foot.
  12. Have we not got our money back there?
  13. It's amazing how quickly fans forget previous signings. Manning and Charles brought in and £10m spent. We only spent £90k last time we were relegated.
  14. Che goes, Piroe signs shortly after. Whether that resolves our goalscoring issues is to be seen.
  15. Liverpool will bid £50m on Friday and Lavia will have a slight niggle, so won't play. We'll draw the game 2-2 and wonder if we'd of won with Lavia protecting the back four better.
  16. Without question. Until I read they've had a £35m bid turned down they will be going absolutely nowhere.
  17. Chelsea seem to make a habit of hijacking over big clubs transfers. The only thing stopping this happening again is their desire to sign Caicedo.
  18. Not too many people on here come into contact with the players very often. He knows the game. Until a deal is concluded, you keep things pretty close to your chest. I think we all know (well, almost all) he wants a move.
  19. If that wage is accurate, and it may be, it's not going to be workable for a championship side. He isn't going to take a pay cut, so someone (Everton) are going to have to give him a big loyalty pay off.
  20. We can only go as fast as the buyers permit. An alternative way to look at it, is we made many of our signings in January, so we are ahead of the game.
  21. Holgate could be our main CB target and despite him obviously being available, he's gone nowhere. His massive weekly wage will probably be the main reason, but unless he's holding out for a Prem move, I'd of thought he'd be keen to join us and might be one of those patient players (along with Piroe and Grimes???).
  22. Is he Moyes' mate? The language and tone used in that tweet seems very hostile to the west ham board. Unsurprisingly, I like what I read though.
  23. If we get an extra £10m for a player, which is huge amount of money in the championship, it's worth waiting till the last day of the window IMO.
  24. I respect us for setting a suitably high transfer fee and also respect Liverpool for trying to get the best deal. Neither club can control the 'noise'. As we saw with the Mason Mount transfer, clubs can hold firm on the price on top quality players and the buying clubs will simply pay the money if they want the player. Chelsea to bid £60m. No messing about.
  25. You've got what it takes to do this professionally
