  1. I see. Smallbone has always played in an attacking midfield role. Diallo always a defensive midfield role. If we are relying on Smallbone to run our midfield this season, we are fucked before we start.
  2. What's do you mean by `mega signings'? Outgoings have and were always going to be the thing. That said, we just spent £10m on Charles. That is pretty big for the Championship. I should imagine it will exceed total spending for the majority of sides in the EFL.
  3. Who is the Diallo replacement?
  4. I agree. Could well happen, but we are in the hands of the Prem sides that may or may not buy Adams.
  5. Not sure if that is good news or bad for JWP transfer? West Ham not interested but Fulham may come into money.
  6. Not sure you'll get any arguments on here, but that does rely on someone buying the ones we have. Adams going looks a possibility, but will anyone pay the £15m or whatever we want for him? Not many recent links to AA or Mara. Tella will seemingly only depart if Burnley spend proper money on him.
  7. A quick google search has Fulham, Palace, Forest, Everton, Burnley and Wolves all interest in Che. Any more for any more?
  8. yep. achilles tendon surgery ended his season in February. scored 10 goals in those 13 games.
  9. They seem to be losing Jonny Evans, possibly to Everton. In general, they have been shit without him.
  10. West Ham renew interest in Alvarez from Ajax according to the athletic. £35-40m quoted. Might have a bearing on JWP.
  11. Excellent. Looking forward to seeing how he progresses. Got to wonder where that leaves Small.
  12. Is Maghoma a left or right back? Is ABK injured still? Where is Stu?
  13. No blues fan, but good to see their Chinese owners have been bought out and the new guys will hopefully look to put investment in rather than suck every single penny out.
  14. Are we actually going to get money for Diallo? Even if it's just a couple of million that's a Result. What a disappointment he has been.
  15. Depends who you could bring in to replace him.
  16. Just because he scored goals then, it doesn't mean he will again. He was on fire three seasons ago, brimming with confidence and just hitting anything that came his way. He'll have more time and space again, but he has to get his mind right too if he is to score goals. I hope he can do it, but I don't think its a foregone conclusion that he will.
  17. there isn't a guarantee of £40m next summer. Who says City are going to want him?
  18. No different to every other team. To be honest no one expects Burnley to be splashing mega bucks on players this summer. The Prem money is not all paid up front, so it's not easy to bring a shed load of players in during the summer without bridging loans or a owner will be provide a big slush fund. However, actions speak louder than words. They have just spent £20m on a young keeper. There is no reason why they could not have just spent £20m or more on Tella and perhaps less on a keeper. Their choice. Whatever their situation is, pleading poverty ain't going to rub and as Forrest found out last season with Gibbs White, if you really want a player, you either pay the money demanded or find someone else.
  19. The Burnley FC PR team are doing a great job. The £19m they just spent on a league 1 keeper is already completely forgotten.
  20. and a significant size CM hole in the squad. Whether Liverpool will go for (and by that I mean spend £50m) a young talent with only one season under his belt, I am not sure.
  21. Looks a very strong youth team player. Hoping he can shine in the championship straight from the off.
  22. Very good point about needing a striker that can play with his back to goal - like Che. AA can't do that. Not sure about Mara. He likes to drop deep, so it might work.
  23. If they can find £19m for a keeper that has only played in League 1, they can find £20m for Tella. However, maybe we want £30m or £40m for Tella - which perhaps is us overvaluing our player. We don't really know. The long and short of it is, we can set the price whatever we like. We may not sell at that price, but if we are comfortable at not selling, then that's our prerogative.
  24. Has it? Can you share a link to The Athletic article. I've not read that one or any other that confirms we are debt free.
  25. When were our debts cleared? Are you referring to the £70m loan and/or payments for recent transfers? How much is in the bank? Is it the £18m Dragon just put in there to tide things over until money comes in from transfers etc?
