Let me make a note of that. July 23rd. Transfers don't happen after this date. In the memory bank for future reference.
-
West Ham supposedly bid £50m for Palhinha. Fulham want £80m. No idea if any of that is true, but bloody hell.
-
Not going to argue with the points, I really can't remember, but all keepers make mistakes, so fair chance another keeper would have cost us some points too. You mention Navas on another post. He was fucking terrible when we played them. I know he had a couple of good games for Forest when he first joined, but overall he wasn't great.
-
I can see now why Tottenham Hotspur was named the Premier League's `greenest football club' for the fourth consecutive year.
-
I recall saying something similar about the £20m transfer fee for Ings. Stewart had two injuries last season, but not sure he missed many games in the season before that.
-
Realistically, we ain't doing nothing in the keeper department until someone takes McCarthy off our hands.
-
isn't Larios also being eased back after his injury?
-
I'm surprised a few haven't departed. I thought Salisu would have had a side lined up - maybe he has, but we wont budge on price). I thought Lavia deal would have bene done early as he is the real talent, but we obviously don't intend to `take what is given' and that will inevitably slow negotiations down.
-
I certainly thought KWP would have multiple suitors. Maybe he has. Not everything reaches the press. Sulemana and ABK will have high price tags for two players that didn't exactly have stella seasons. If we want £25m+ for Sulemena, there will be some nervousness as to whether he is the real deal. Adams has been linked with half of the Premiership.
-
£30m is still a very decent amount. We seem to have got our pants pulled down by Chelsea when we agreed to hand them about half of any subsequent transfer fee.
-
it has to be shinning
-
How about Payne? Not sure if he is good enough or not, as not seen him.
-
We don't get to hear about every enquiry made. For all we know every Prem club could have calle to ask how much KWP would be. Perhaps we have set a pretty high amount (and why not) and no one values him as much as we do.
-
That's decent money. Pleasantly surprised by that figure, although he's a good player, so why not.
-
I thought we'd lose both. I still do to be honest.
-
Just to put Lavia's price into context, Liverpool were linked in the Mail with Cheick Doucoure from Palace today and the price mentioned was £70m. The Mail also suggest Chelsea now making a £80m bid for Caicedo.

I know a lot has changed at Chelsea since last year, but it will be bloody annoying to see them sell him this summer after we seemingly tried our best to sign him all of last summer. I suspect he's been left out of the touring party as he's only just got back from injury. Ings aint coming to us in the championship. How on earth would that work financially? West Ham would probably have to pay two thirds of his wage for two years for him to be affordable to us.
-
and the obligation to buy may be if he meets certain targets, like playing 75% of the games this season. The devil may be in the detail. Who knows?

this. Not sure anyone in Europe is going to watch Saudi football. Maybe the masses of fans in Asia will follow their hero's and take a big chunk of the Prem TV money away, but who cares? The more money Sky etc pay the more the players earned. As fans we saw better players, but ticket prices rose accordingly.

to be fair (and I am not one to usually hold back in criticising our scouting system), if you look at his youtube videos (yes I know), he is really impressive at Brest, breaking up the play and then bursting into space to start attacks. I am not sure what happened, but I didn't see any of that for us. He didn't break up the play very often and carrying the ball with purpose was totally non existent. In fact, when he first played for us, he just looked completely lost, as though he had never played centre midfield before. He didn't know where to stand, where to be and what to do. It was like a completely different player.

Lavia signed in July. Romeu went on September 1st. The two transfers had nothing to do with each other.
-
Excellent. Our players are going to fry or microwave then.
-
we started with 5 at the back. It was a total disaster. Ralph's original plan went in the bin after one game. We then went to 4-2-3-1 and Romeu was the odd man out. I am not sure Ralph had known all summer that Romeu would depart in that window. Possibly.
-
What a great move for him. I think I spent the entire time he was here trying to convince one or two on here just how good he was. Such an underrated player. Brilliant first touch and the technical ability to work in the tightest of areas. When he and JWP were on song, we dominated possession against a lot of teams. Loved it when he scored the odd goal. That screamer of a volley springs to mind. Seeing as he departed on the last day of the window, I wonder if we actually signed Lavia to play with him, or even to deputise, with AMN the actual Romeu replacement (who joined on the last day of the window).

Hope you are right, but he's not going to give up Prem football at West Ham lightly.
