How do these 'journalists' know the details of the offer? Who tells them?

We've signed two in positions of need. Considering how few have left, I'm surprised we've even done that. Share your concerns, but we were relegated after spending a fortune. Pretty much an impossible task to correct things in one window.

Noises from the club'? What noises from the club? There have been so many stories written in the press about JWP departing. How do you know which is accurate? Which one is backed by 'noises made by the club', should they even exist.

When I read a report suggesting Downes is possibly part of the JWP deal, I struggle to believe it. I don't think they want to sell him or he wants to go. Feels like football journalism by numbers.

I didn't know that. Martin may have a little bit more idea about him then In the end, all that matters is if he is any good. He doesn't seem to have impressed Prem scouts.

Aaron's joined Norwich from Luton in the summer of 2018 and Martin left Norwich that summer. I guess they may have done one preseason together.

The Wolves part of my post isn't really the key thing, its whether the 7 or 8 Prem sides that have been linked see him (fee and wages) as worth the money.

The fact we couldn't get him to sign a new contract suggests he probably wanted a shit load of wages, and seeing as he hasn't scored that many goals, perhaps he's not a 'no brainer' signing. If you were Wolves, for example, would you give him a three year £100k a week deal?

The video showing his goals shows some really nice finishes and he has obviously scored a few. Despite that, no Prem side seems interested. Seeing as we are championship perhaps that doesn't matter, but he possibly lacks a yard of pace?

£20m for Piroe would be a lot to spend. He's scored some goals, but he has his limitations too. That's massive money for a guy with a year left.

As I said, not even the Saudis are rich enough to blow £8m on him. The Qataris on the other hand. 😉

Players can be wankers. Is it not the job of the manager to 'manage' them? A decent manager might be able to inspire and coax the best out of him.

Probably my favourite Saints player of all time. Always annoyed me when they talked about football hard men and the like of Vinnie Jones got mentioned. Case was nails. With what he had done at Liverpool he was the perfect man to set the example, set the standard.

Absolutely. He, and Barry Horne were like silent assassins more than happy to carve an opponent in two if they'd taken liberties with a fellow player. Case was experienced, and seemed a fitting skipper, but not sure it matters. The manager does the job of the skipper these days, constantly directing traffic.

Jimmy Case style? I watched quite a lot of Jimmy Case at Saints and my recollection of him was of a quiet guy that just went about his business on the pitch and was not someone that beat his chest and instructed players what they should be doing. I don't remember ever seeing him shouting at players at all on the pitch.

In that specific interview complaining about the window remaining open, I think he said "couldn't give a number". There was another interview where he said "there were a few keen to join us and willing to wait."
