my point being, if you managed someone like Spurs, West Ham or Villa (who would have the required funds to tempt us) would you look to sign him? Has he done enough to impress `top 6' type clubs? I was surprised Leicester signed Vestegaard, but as you suggest, perhaps we as fans are too harsh on our CBs...perhaps.
-
I'm wondering who would have been impressed by him enough to spend serious money (i.e. he won't be walking for free soon), seeing as he's a year into a 4.5 year contract

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/12515249/armando-broja-southampton-want-to-sign-on-loan-chelsea-striker-permanently-but-face-competition Further down this article it says there is interest in Bednarek. From who? Anyone know?

He's 24, so, possibly what you see now, is what you will get going forward, which is a very hard working, committed left back. Which is a bloody good start. I repeat what I've said on previous threads - it's great to get that desire, and a left footer, but technically he doesn't look gifted. I hope I am wrong (I often am) and he starts to really shine as he grows in confidence, but on what I've seen, which is not a huge number of games yet, I'm not convinced we have a top quality player on our hands.
-
Good to hear. He looks like he has that ability on the ball and just needs to be able to cope with the physicality of the mens game. He's got a contract with us until 2023 I believe. Hope he can keep progressing.

Did you see those two non goals Carroll scored last night? Might be a good option for Burnley to replace Wood.
-
Not easy for them. Who can they sign? Hard sell at the moment. I said on another thread, Broja for £35m would be an option for them. But would he want t make that move? Not so sure.
-
Spurs are going to replace their keeper. Lloris aint very good. Johnstone has been mentioned, but Henderson looks the much better option. That feels a better fit than him coming to us. His wages (every player at United) must be problematic for us.
-
not sure how much the loan costs us this year (in addition to paying his wages), but if he scores, say 10 goals this season, it will cost a damn sight more next season. Such is life.
-
£20m feels low. If we were the only possible suitor, but every other Prem side will be looking at him too. Newcastle could do worse than offer £35m tomorrow. Are we another WBA/Lukaku, with an Everton/Newcastle/West Ham/Spurs blowing us out of the water?
-
I changed my post when I saw the £34m/£68m figures for Abraham. No brainer decision for both sides for Abraham and if similar for Broja also a no brainer. Not sure we have £30m to spend. Maybe if we don't need to sign another player. But a keeper is one straight away...probably.
-
I didn't know that. Interesting. If we could get him for say £30m, which would be well beyond our budget I should think, it would be money well spent.

what a great few weeks. So nice to get some wins and get us out of this long funk. Hope it goes on forever.
-
I need to cut him some slack. He certainly tries his heart out.
-
has he? Sorry, don't see it at all.
-
great tackle JWP. Lyanco has to win that header. Salisu ball watching a bit. It doesn't matter though. Everything is going our way today. Two god saves from Forster. We can do not wrong.
-
nice to get him firing too though.
-
loving this. It's been so long...or it feels like it anyway. Joy.
-
...just as he gets caught badly in possession putting us in trouble.
-
Shearer II?
-
another few million added to his price
-
fuck yes
-
the formation has Salisu running out wide to try and prevent a cross, failing and then its down to Lynco, Bednerek and hopefully Tella to pick up. Didn't happen. The formation helps in other situations though.
-
is there though? He clearly can handle a ball, but does he defend well, which is his primary job? He ain't that good in the air. He is not the most powerful CB, although he looks to be pretty quick. Has he got a good long pass? I'm not sure. His decision making is terrible. He dives in, overplays and looks a liability to me. I guess that last part is the one he can improve in time, and if it does the ball skills and pace will make him a player. Will he learn though or is that just him?

he looks fine
