Went back and read the Russ transfer comments from the interviews yesterday. Does loaning Ramsey fit his statement: "A couple of years ago it was about spending money for here and now to stay in the league. This time we haven't done that. That has been agreed by us. We're not just going to go all in for one season and put the club in a difficult position further down the line. Doesn't seem to align. Perhaps if there is a permanent move afterwards?

I don't know him or his career. Watching that video he seems be very `Fraser-like'. Not quick, but busy. Looks like he will run with the ball in straight lines, but he has no real tricks. There is lots of laying it off to others to do the tough bit of finishing. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm not overly excited. I'd like to see a bit more from a winger. I guess it's a lot tougher to do that in Serie A than say the Championship - which is where the other wingers we have looked at have been plying their trade.
-
If we stay up, it probably won't do us any harm in attracting other decent players. I'm getting ahead of myself now though. Excellent to have this late window link. Hope it comes off. Will give everyone a real lift after the poor start.

Cheers. Emulating it (let's say us paying Arsenal £20m now, but they buy him back for £15m next summer if we go down - this a £5m loan fee) might not be possible for financial fair play reasons. With us being involved in the Archer subsequent move, I would guess the ploy will be very familiar to us now.
-
You might be right, but he's an improvement on what we got and its those small incremental steps that add to up a better side and more points.
-
Is there any news on the Archer transfer investigation? With limitations on the number of loans we can bring in from prem sides, I just wondered if we could copy that `buy back' move (to disguise an extra loan) AND get away with it?
-
I think he was at Forest when the Tina episode took place.
-
Me too. 0-0 in their first league game. They had 68% possession, away from home, but only two shots on target (sounds familiar). Weghorst going to Ajax. Their hand is now a little weaker, although they may simply not have the cash to go much higher.
-
Fellows reminds me a little bit of Brooks, but unlike him is genuinely two footed, which is rare these days. Not quite sure he has enough to unlock Prem defences, but you wont know until you see him try. He looks like a £15m player we might pull off rather than, what turned out to be a £25m guy, like Asprilla or Carvalho, which we really wanted.
-
Weghorst has apparently agreed personal terms with Ajax. Trabzonspor's `bluff' option may not be an option for them. Lets see if they up their offer for TP.
-
rightly or wrongly, it sounds like he wants a right winger to allow AA to play down the middle.

Thanks. It will be interesting to see the 2024 accounts next March to see if that figure is any where near genuine. I don't recall seeing `donations that have been turned into equity' of that magnitude in the first sets of accounts, but June 23 to June 24 may be very different.
-
what, like promotion, introducing safe standing and signing a host of new players like Sugawara, THB, Downes, Les, Fernandez, BBD and Archer? I understand your frustration, especially in the goalkeeping department, but there has been some `positive' things from the club over the last four months.
-
With Lis going, is there a possibility that we sign no keeper, run with two senior guys and an u21 keeper as back up until January and then re-assess?
-
does playing for us on loan help his long term career at all? Would sitting on the bench waiting for the right move be a better move for him?
-
good staff/players get poached.
-
did Downes sign?
-
Sorry, but I don't really understand what you are saying.
-
Genuinely interested to khow much SR have `invested' beyond the money the paid to buy us. Do you know?
-
We signed Downes. I actually question if we should bother offering second contracts to players. If they are good enough, they wont sign. If they are not good enough to get a move, why are we offering them another deal? We let them go and sign someone that is actually good enough to attract a bigger suitor. I might be wrong on this, but I don't tend to blame the club for failing to pin a guy like KWP down. The only way we do that is to pay more than the going rate. does that work financially? maybe. What more can RM do? is it eve his job to recruit players?
-
I wonder if there is any other interest in ABK? His PSV loan move came a bit out of the blue last time, so there is still a chance he will depart.
-
I've lost track of the current situation, but are we actually looking to sign a striker - we just spent £15m on Archer - and if we are, does it have to be a loan?
-
Lukaku is getting close to his move. We have seen they are happy to sell Broja. Jackson and Guiu won't be going anywhere. So that leaves David Forfana and Deivid Washington. Fancy either of those?
-
After the ABK medical leak debacle, I would guess he would not want to even mention Bijlow has been here for a medical in case he fails it (or more accurately, the results are not to the management's satisfiction). There might even be a possibility that we may want to change the terms of deal depending on those results...and as we know to our cost, the deal could easily fall through.

will come in handy when we are celebrating getting out of our own half.
