  1. very happy to be successful, not particularly enamoured about paying Arsenal-like prices to watch that success.
  2. the BVI loan may well cost millions in interest each year, depending on its existence and size.
  3. £1.25m actually. Thank you David Pleat.
  4. at Wigan it was a Barcelona-style-full-court-press. Both strikers pushed right up, centre midfielder pushed right up on their deep lying CM and our left and right midfielders pushing right up onto their fullbacks all the time. It worked a treat. Wigan played through us once and boy did they have to work to even do that. The rest of the time they gave the ball away or hoofed it long. This tactic should be used nearly all the time. The Premiership simply does not have all that many teams with the players good enough to play through it. Yes some will go long and may proposer, but by and large most teams want to pass it out from the back, so lets get at them as they aren't good enough to do it.
  5. interesting comment at the bottom of that Agent David story: Please be advised that the Joint Liquidators' investigations are on-going. These investigations have so far lead to the commencement of legal proceedings against certain parties. Until all such claims have been brought and have concluded, the Joint Liquidators will not be in a position to disclose details of the findings. Some of these investigations, due to their nature and complexity, can take a number of years to conclude. Creditors will be kept updated of developments as and when the Liquidators are in a position to provide further updates. Should have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. 6. how about just if the football business doubled the season ticket price next season?
  7. selfishly I hope he doesn't get called up. I don't want him getting injured or tired.
  8. I said end of next season.
  9. our friendly reporter Neil Allen deemed her accusation enough to deserve a retweet. What's the legalities of posting a photo of someone on twitter accusing them of something or other?
  10. he's hardly played for several months. Ten minutes at the end of the odd game isn't going to help him a great deal. He needs games. A month out on loan will do him good. What kind of call back do you get on month long loans?
  11. I wonder if a player has ever said: "the fans are great, not quite as good as at my last club, but great nevertheless"?
  12. I might be a scummer in the eyes of skates, but I'm not scum.
  13. what on earth are you talking about?
  14. I thought we were quite good, we really pressed them right from the off and caused them to give up posession time after time. Unfortunatelty we had very little cutting edge in the final third, didn't get people in the box, didn't shoot or really press home our advantage. Wigan had little ball but were sharp on the break. Davis again changed the game. He was so sharp and busy and the team followed his lead.

  16. has he? Unless I'm mistaken you and pretty much everyone else on this forum has slated Jos right left and centre on here. I think I've been almost the only fan that has suggested he would do a job for us when called upon. Surprise, surprise he did exactly that yesterday. He had a great game no matter what you say about Schnarner winning a header against him. Unlike Yoshida, Jos got tight all day long and didn't give Di Santa and easy ride. He also looked very composed on the ball, which is where he has fallen short since coming back into the side.
  17. Just back after a long drive home. I'm still smiling at the way we played yesterday. I honestly don't feel down at the dropped points. The style of football we served up more than make sup for it. It's exaxctly the kind of football I want to see. Quite frankly I'd rather us lose and draw games playing like that then see us win the odd game playing like West Ham and Stoke. I imagine many will disagree, but when you drive 500 miles, spend you weekend and a small fortune doing it, you want to see your side play passing attacking football, creating chances, diminating games...and that's exactly what we are doing. Loving it.
  18. was poor yesterday, but he quite clearly looks a quality player. I'm more than happy to give him more time. I'm willing to bet that £12m will seem a snip come the end of next season.
  19. two points lost? maybe. but coming back from behind takes some doing. thought the side showed tremendous character. the question is can we turn these performances into a couple of wins
  20. now that is entertainment. gutted they equalised but great buzz watching us take hold of a game and come back from behind. WIGAN pal said we were robbed and totally out classed them in every department. he was right. its clear how the new manager wants us to play. first and foremost we totally disregard the opposition and just press press press. if you are good enough to play through us fair play but most teams arent. wigan and man uunited wedent. possession wise we have gone back to what we were doing first half of last season. pass teams to death. i like it. boruc 7 one great save. a few poor throws. kicking spot on. clyne 5 poor from the off. very sloppy for him. yoshida 4 never gets tight. poor in the air today. lots of crap clearances. some very good passes though. jos 8 got tight and won everything. composed on the ball. like role reversal on recent weeks. shaw 9 quiet first half but took players on in second. strong and pacey. what a player this lad is. morgan 10 just outstanding. he was just too good for them. cork 7 our best player in the first half. good going forward from right back but defensively he struggled to cope with the pace. ramirez 3 one great pass apart he just was not good enough. puncheon 6 shoot. ffs. not much came off. rodriguez 8 growing in confidence. starting to take people on now. lambert 9 won everything and was a huge threat all day. davis 9 massive impact. grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck lallana less impact than davis but worked his socks off
  21. one great pass apart ramirez has done little. if he is playing off the striker he needs to get in the box on occasions. all very well doninating possession again but we need to come alive in box not stand and hope someone else will do it.
  22. will yoshida get tight ever?
  23. missed this amazing idea when it was first offered. Laughable. anyone that has failed to recognise Morgan's defensive qualities over the last three or four seasons knows sweat **** all about the game IMO. He has tremendous pace, a massive engine and an ability to cover the ground to get us out of all kinds of jail. In his current role (along with Cork) he is the linchpin, covering fullbacks when they go forward. What the **** we need a right back playing as a front sweeper before I will never know. Coaching badges don't give you the ability to read and understand the game, nor spot genuine talent. Coaching badges are (unsurprisingly) about coaching and managing players. For what it's worth, you could tell from his very first touch on the ball in his first game that Morgan was a proper player. I'm amazed there is even a single Saints fan that still doesn't rate him. In his first season his one failing was his lack of tackling. He added that to his game about 18 months into his Saints career. He could have played in the Prem three season ago IMO, but the extra time with us and the step up through the league has been perfect for his development. Get him signed up to a 5 year deal now.
  24. We certainly don't have a UNited/City/Chelsea-like squad and there is certainly room for improvement, but we do have the odd player on the bench (depending who you think its our starting 11) that has done quite well at this level such as Guly, Prowse, Davis, Jrod and Ramirez. Mayuka and Forren have yet to be given a real chance to show what they can do too. IMO Jos, Richardson and Fox can do a job if needed. We've spent a fortune. Not sure any Saint can have a complaint about lack of signings this year.
  25. I'm sure Cortese will loan them a player or two, just as soon as they settle the outstanding debt they have with us.
