he did what he had to do to watch the game. Actually going to games is what being a supporter is all about. I have to tip my hat at anyone that sits in the South stand upper. Some wonderfully charming chaps in that part of the ground. I've watched Brum sat on my hands there myself. Personally going to these Derby games are what watching football is all about. The buzz of the two games are almost worth the rest of my season ticket put together. Simply do not understand why every Saint does not do everything in their power to be at them. They are on a different level.

about 50 either side with a few empty seats in their corners as well. Great having the whole end. Our away support has been good this season and we deserved those extra tickets.
-
weren't they the unsold for segregation seats?
-
don't tell me you went for a few pints before and after as well?
-
as loud as I've ever heard it before a game. If they didn't know what the game meant before they did right then.
-
to be fair a large chunk of our home support is too, and fair play to them. I hope I can still afford to go at 60.
-
more away fans at Orient too. To be honest the game was hardly an end to end affair that helps generate the best atmospheres.

I honestly didn't hear the ****ing bell once during the game yet on TV that's all you could hear. Our away support does have a large percentage of ladies and older generation. I've been to many a northern game and if it wasn't for them there'd only be a few hundred there. That's just the way it is. Not scary, often not all that loud, but they are Saints. There were plenty of lads today though on the right hand side. Does it really matter though? Have to say I do like the hostility of the crowd. It creates a good atmosphere...when we come to town anyway. Boy do they ****ing hate us. The abuse of Saints players taking throw ins and corners right through the game really worked in 2005, less so today. But it can get into players heads if they are not right on their game and maybe our fans could do a bit more of that. This is the sort if thing jackanory might be talking about. We possibly have too many polite fans down the middle of our ground. Come the return leg let's get into their heads...

he certainly got more stick than he deserved that day, but in the Hull game he played as badly as I have ever seen and yet git clapped off by many (I don't boo, but I certainly didn't get out of my seat or clap him that's for sure). He blows hot and cold, he was cold today, but when he is hot, he is some player. For that reason he starts until we get a new striker in. Barnard will run all day, but he just doesn't offer the quality required IMO.

19,879 not 18,879. You've given a lot of high marks for a pretty average display, mind you considering the atmosphere and amount on the game perhaps they deserved it. I thought Lallana was much improved and Lambert and Hammond had a great games.
-
he certainly was, but boy has he been **** in the last three away games.
-
were you in the South stand? Very brave. The Saints fans on the right hand side seemed to be more loons than flask carriers.

The noise during the warm up was top notch, the celebrations and noise for the goals off the scale, the rest was certainly better than the previous two that's for sure. Just watched a bit of the game again and the real sound levels do not come across at all. The mics were clearly at the home end.

the goal celebration with live in my memory forever. Shame we didn't see it through to the end, 2 points wasted.

you do realise there are 7 blocks in the Milton End. -

the whole area immediately to the East of the ground will be cordoned off so all the coaches will be able to park down Rodney road and Anson Road, a short walk to the Milton end. There won't be a need for 2 coaches at a time nor would it make sense as the other 30 odd coaches would have sit outside the sterile area. Having said all that I fear some may miss the kick off. -
very peculiar, unless corp is suggesting that the monies owed to scumball were not as a result of the 2008 season, but in fact the 2009 season. That might explain it. Is that what you meant corp?

Burrows uses Bradford, Hillsborough and Ibrox disasters to justify bubble
Chez replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
South Today won't ask a tricky question like "Why mention Bradford and Hillsborough in the same breath as the bubble?" besides the watchers won't understand as they may not have seen the Echo article. -
not a chance in hell of getting Adomah to leave Bristol for us at this time. He has not long since moved there and seems to have settled in well. He is playing extremely well and is not goign to jump ship unless its a Prem side that comes knocking - which I doubt they will. Bristol don't need to sell as was shown by Maynard staying in the summer, so that move is just not going to happen. Likewise Clyne. He turned down a move to Wolves last season preferring to stay at Palace for at least another season. He is not going to go the same route as Bostock. McGugan has fallen from grace massively at Forest. He would be a great signing IMO. Great feet, plays with his head up and has the kind of ability we are looking for to slot into a floating attacking role like Lallana often plays He was their outstanding player last season and the Forest fans I know are all scratching their heads why he has not been picked this season. The game against us was a prime example with them desperate for an attacking player only for him to come on with a couple of minutes to go. The link has been to Everton though. The link with Puncheon might stand up as Cotterill fancied him when he was at the skates but just could not afford him.

Pompey ticket update - ticket office open on Sunday morning

why didn't they mention this earlier or indeed included it in the email sent out Saturday night? It would have saved me a journey. The ticket office are clearly reacting to angry fans saying they could not collect the tickets during the week - fair play to them for that - but it just demonstrates what a pigs ear they have made of this whole allocation process. -

the locals are up in arms about the road closures -
not a chance especially if they are stopping off at Burseldon on route.

all three promoted clubs, who were at the top of the league and therefore were similarly placed to ourselves, strengthened in some way during January. If the right player is there, at the right price and we keep within our budget, then it is a no brainer. It's the gambling on promotion we should never do ever again, ever.

out of interest what's your favourite carp lure?
