  1. I get the feeling what we saw last season is what we will get from him. Some lovely touches and flicks that create opportunities, some flashes of brilliance...but also games where he's a non entity. That's why Bournemouth let him go out on loan.
  2. aren't all wingers a little bit hit and miss? Trying to beat fullbacks is a t0ugh thing to do. Sometimes you manage it, sometimes you don't.
  3. Fraser didn't sign on loan until 25th August last time. I wonder if Newcastle will hold out for a transfer fee, while we will want to take him on a free transfer (he has one year left)/loan.
  4. or that unlike Onuachu, they are no where near joining a new club, so have to return.
  5. New financial year. Being over FFP threshold for the previous three years (which they will be punished for) doesn't stop them spending now.
  6. if we dont pay him, he can walk on a free. right now we are hoping to get €10m for him
  7. https://www.londonworld.com/sport/football/watford/deal-done-arsenal-and-everton-beaten-to-ps25m-fantastic-watford-star-4709140 and now Saudi. Shame. I think he was just what we needed.
  8. he was very pretty good last season in the championship. You might be right about the Prem, he failed last time, but let's see this time around.
  9. I think RM stated he was not required to report back. All parties know the score.
  10. Where does AA fit in to that equation?
  11. Oof. That might be a stumbling block to a move. I wonder who is paying that when they can get him for nothing next year? He's 32 (33 in Feb) and on a massive wage (probably bigger than anything we pay right now) until 2025. His injury record (days out, number if injuries, games missed) would be very concerning for any suitor: 23/24 156 days 5 28 22/23 45 days 2 9 21/22 173 days 2 30 20/21 99 days 4 18
  12. He didn't get the right service, but equally he looked unable to control a football at times. Terrible decision to sign him. He will be joining trabzonspor on a permanent de in the very near future.
  13. I'm hoping he just feels like he belongs this time around, is played in that right wing position and just cracks it. His work rate has been great, but we need his ruthlessness in front of goal to continue otherwise we won't stay up.
  14. Gets the likes of Wilson and Ramsdale on loan and we look a completely different outfit. Scary wages, but without the transfer fee risk at least. Not sure either would Wana drop to our level though.
  15. In recent times there are quite a lot of higher budget strikers that have bitten clubs. Scammacca and Beto spring to mind. Villa spent how much on Ings? Did they get what they paid for. Very tough to find strikers that can play on their own and score a shed load of goals.
  16. That transfer fee inflation is fine for the megaclubs who's income has also swelled, but we are like the common man on the street. The price of everything has skyrocketed, but income hasnt changed all that much. Our accounts show that the money just isn't there to fork out £40m for players.
  17. Not massive news, but Echo article says Onuachu not recalled for training this summer. Slightly unusual? I guess our hand has already been shown, so not much point in dragging him back here. Not exactly the strongest negotiating position, but I'm guessing we'll find a middle ground between the €10m and €6m: https://thesun.ng/transfer-fee-blocks-onuachu-switch-from-england/?amp
  18. Quality, not experience. Stephens offers more than enough experience. We need players with the right attributes. Pace, power, technique... Agree it will be a struggle. Like the old days, looking forward to it
  19. Last three centre forward signings Onuachu, Mara and Stewart.
  20. He certainly ain't getting another Prem gig. He has played a lot of games, but he hasn't exactly been brilliant at that level.
  21. We don't know if Sugawara can do it in the Prem, so right back might still be available. Also, someone still has to come up with a chunk of money for him or he stays.
  22. Linked to Dortmund. https://bvbbuzz.com/posts/borussia-dortmund-reportedly-interested-in-colombian-winger-yaser-asprilla-01j30ytkr98g Balls.
  23. Obviously we hope so, but it's a tough position to find players, especially a promoted side. When you are signing players like Lallana, Taylor and McCarthy then maybe Che is about the sane level?
  24. are we signing someone better?
  25. We must have offered him a new deal, but not sure a Prem side is buying him this summer, and he won't want to join a championship side, so even if he doesn't sign a new contract, I don't think we could offload him even if we wanted to. Tricky situation.
