So basically no one offered the money we wanted for him last summer? I wonder just how much we were asking.
-
I know the point you are making. You think West Ham have the upper hand more than normal. I don't agree. It's the same as most other transfers. The buying club wants the player. My point is that if the West Ham manager doesn't want the player, and there is every chance of that, they will be burning £50k a week on him. So they will actually be very happy that we want him - as there will be almost no other sides able to buy him and pay him. For me, it's a perfect match, just as long as he is not in the managers plans.
-
just one more thing...when any team makes a multimillion pound bid for a player, that's usually the giveaway that you want the player quite a lot. How much do you think we will offer? What do you think our limit is?
-
Maybe they are just keeping their options open, which ensures we don't ask too big a fee. Villa might be an option for KWP.
-
They will know we want him, but they don't know exactly how much. No different to any other transfer really. If they demand too high a fee, we'll have to move on, which could leave them with a player they don't really want. I assume we have some other options.

If they don't want him, then they need us. Who knows if they want him though.
-
No. Anyone can be a football critic.
-
Lost ya. Good option for who, West Ham? If so, sure. I dont see Ipswich signing him. He stays at West Ham or he comes to us.
-
Where do all you body language specialists study and is the course a BA or BSc?
-
Equally, they don't have anyone else to sell him to other than us (plus he may want that move and no other), so it evens out. There are other fish in the sea. Sara at Norwich is a very good option.

Last year apart, his goalscoring record is pretty average, but he's listed as an attacking midfielder, which would explain that. Still, hard to evaluate if you only have one season's worth of tape. With AA, Stewart and maybe Che, we have plenty of `championship' level quality. Finding that little extra is the key, otherwise we are going to be too `average' and not be able to hurt teams.
-
Why didn't he score more goals at Hull last season? Did he miss chances or did they not create much? or did he do the dinkey work for the wingers to take the glory?
-
You'd think that deal would not be concluded until KWP or Bree departure actually happened.
-
Just for balance, Kane scored 16 goals in 56 games out on loan (that was in league 1, championship and 3 games in the Prem for Norwich)
-
Just thinking of available squad places, would that not require one of Stewart/Mara to depart (go out on loan)?
-
Nice. Hope they are not the only ones to get loan moves.
-
If Che re-signs, are we realistically going to sign another striker?
-
He's done alright, but I agree, not exactly dominated games. One player who has `ripped up trees' is Murillo, who is now valued at £70m. Cost them just £10m. I hope we can sign a few players this summer that are worth £70m in a season or two.

More sliding tackles in that video than I saw our whole team make last season. Not a lot of ball skills or passing shown. Dialo looked amazing in his YouTube video, so gonna reserve judgement.
-
nah, June of 44.
-
Linked with Everton, so he might be waiting to see if Onana moves
-
Buy Sara from Norwich. Better player than Reed IMO.

We are a passing team that wants to keep the ball. To do that in the Prem you have to have some talent and there seems to be plenty there. In recent times there has been some crazy prices for guys in the last year of their contract, but you'd hope he was in the £15m not the £30m range. Still a sizeable chunk of change though - and we only have so much to spend. I keep reading on here that the low costs guys will help us spend on players elsewhere. I assume that is at DCM and striker, having already spent £20m on a CB (the right back situation will pay for itself). Is there going to be funds to spend on a winger or will we go low fee on Fraser only?
-
We may not have bid, West Ham may not have accepted and Ings may not have turned us down if the first two happened. I think the only thing you can be sure about is that as he heads closer to the end of his career, there is absolutely no reason for him to move unless the money offered (be that by the buyer or a combination of seller and buyer) matches his current deal.

Hed offer something different. Sulemana doesn't have the vision or passing ability of Asprilla in any shape or form. Not sure they are competing for the same shirt though. Asprilla played almost exclusively on the right wing for Watford, but in a lot of the youtube clips (and in the game at SMS) he seemed to drop deep and play through balls to others running beyond him - making me think he could be deployed as an attacking midfielder rather than just an out and out winger. Possibly more of a David Brooks replacement, assuming we don't sign him (not a lot of talk about that happening on here).
