The stories are horrifying at a personal but also at a cultural/systematic level on how this was allowed to happen. Maybe you're getting worked up about the wrong things.
  3. I think we should wait to get the go ahead from the forum's very own Bob Higgins fan club. He was very clear we shouldn't rush to judgement.
  4. Fantastic to get such in depth insight into the man, his business and what drives him and a real sense of clarity on his vision for the club. What an interview, well done to all concerned.

Simply Google Stephen Vaughan LD Sports and Stephen Vaughan Southampton FC and you will see.... Nothing is what you see. Nothing at all.
  6. Oooooh I'd forgotten about that. "True champions" though.
  7. As long as we achieve the five wins we require to stay up, then I'll be happy with that.

  9. I think he is referring to the Micky Adams era Leicester which used administration to clear the decks without punishment and immediately got promoted back. The points deduction rule was established after that. So technically they didn't cheat because the rules didn't exist. Anyway, these conversations are always the worst form of hypocritical humbug horsesh it. There us never any consideration that we have loads and loads more money than almost every other football club in Britain. More than Barnsley and S****horpe and Burton Albion and Shrewsbury and Swindon and Yeovil and Carlisle United and Huddersfield and Cardiff and Preston. That's not "cheating" or "buying success" that's fine because it's us. But any team that has more money than we do is a disgrace and buying the title and footballs ruined and waah waah wah waaaah wah wah waaaaaaah. Pearl-clutching holier than thou boll ocks. 10. People know that the Y shirt is an entirely bespoke design for a one-off match for York City, right? We're not getting that design. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

So the council are "falling over themselves" to attract investment but if an Arabian investor turned up with £500m to redevelop an area near the docks to create a giant entertainment complex and arena, the council would turn them away because they don't happen to own Saints? Righto. What gets leverage is, you know, actual money and actual intent and then a bit of softer stuff like a corporate PR. Quite frankly lobbing the council £xxx to sponsor a festival or city event, or just taking councillors on a jolly old "fact finding mission" is a far far more effective leverage strategy than the irrelevance of buying the football club. There was a story a while ago about a Chinese property developer promising to spend £1bn in Sheffield and he had their council "falling over themselves" and trumpeting the deal. Total number of football club purchases to achieve this leverage: zero.
  14. For personal reasons delighted to see Derby make Wembley but I think its Villa's year now. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

So a completely pointless exercise. If all they wanted to a achieve is a failed attempt to buy some land in Southampton then they could have very easily done that without going through the whole rigmarole of buying the football club. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

Yes, I do. What's happening to prove him right? If anyone wants to invest billions in property development in Southampton, they need to buy some land and then cosy up to the council. Buying local football club: utterly utterly irrelevant. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

We have some experts on this forum when it comes to running a gold-standard effective replica shirt boycott campaign. I can't remember all the details but I do know that lesson one is to get yourself down the Saints store and purchase a shirt on the day it comes out. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

  22. Well, I have all his books, have been listening to him on the radio for nearly thirty years and I saw him on his first tour 18 months ago. I think I know what to expect and I reckon I'll enjoy it. Thanks for your concern. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  23. Congratulations to Cardiff for winning ten matches in the league this season. Strangely, not enough to keep them in the division though. #bangonthemoney #statisticalanslysis #ceterisparibus
  24. We are the fu cking Dons when it comes to drawing football matches. Three seasons of it. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  25. Can't see one-nil being anywhere near enough but at least Sunderland won the match which I had no expectation they would. Well the few screwed up in their last home game so the hope goes on. A nice comfortable stroll for Charlton today will also help. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
