2 years ago we got dicked 5-0 by Sunderland and lost 4 in a row. In September 2023 there was no promotion party, that's for sure.
-
Well, clean sheet.
-
I think you can make too many substitutions.
-
Absolutely exceptional displays of knocking it between the keeper and the CBs.
-
Just think of the shots we can rain in on their sub keeper.
-
Obviously now loads of injury time at the end of the half for us to concede in
-
Our strategy seems to be "let's pretend we are a L2 team in a cup tie vs a Prem team"
-
This is going well.

That's settled, then. Outrageous if he's doing it. I mean he's bloody terrible anyway.
-
Do we win more on ITV or Sky?
-
He's picked the team I would have picked so no complaints.

Such a shame. You know those guys were absolutely desperate to preen themselves over a 2-0 against Motherwell or Dundee as proof of his managerial genius "he's challenging for a national league title", "he's competing regularly in European competition", "if you think about it he's operating at a higher level than he ever did with Saints". Even I didn't think the clown would be quite this bad, so spare a thought for the Martin disciples who will never get the "i told you so" moment they so craved. They'll have to wait for his next job at Standard Liege or something.

Graham Potter: hold my beer.

I think at times like this, when what we are talking here about is a man's job, his livelihood, his reputation and maybe his career, what you have to remember is all of this is all absolutely as funny as fuck.
-
2 weeks time. He'll be sacked by then. We'll get the fucking sacked/ new manager bounce

Awful lot of "why can't a father stand up and speak in a university without fearing for his life" performative weeping from the same people who will stand and say nothing should be done to stop hundreds of school children being slaughtered by nutcases with guns. Kirk diminished those kids to some tiny percentage, suggesting they were a price worth paying for gun ownership and was in the process of sneering at the same point just before he was shot. But being shot with a gun is bad now, huh.

Word for word this is just like what the families of Jo Cox and David Amess were saying This guy was definitely all about politeness and resolving differences through talking, wasn't he.
-
Mosley was polite and gentlemanly etc, I'm not sure that in itself refutes or diminishes this guy's declared opinions on abortion or race. Also I have been reading the "he was so nice behind the scenes, the "real" him wasn't like that etc etc etc. Basically saying that the guy doing the town hall and podcasts was a character, just an act. I'm not sure that it is better. Anyway, all I can see is people trying to have it both ways, simultaneously trying to say he was a moderate and non violent and conciliatory while at the same time trying to demonise and attack the "other side" and seek retribution.

Give him three full years and he'll be just like Alex Ferguson.

1989 called and it wants its sparkling observations back.

Anything lower than fourth would be an absolute disaster and feels impossible (unforgivable) considering the squad and money spent. I'll be pessimistic and say a soul destroying third. But we still win at Wembley.
-
Fucking hell, Forest.

I agree, the huge volume of cash from UK tax payers to social care and pensions (benefits) for old people is absolutely out of control. Of course, the Reform people never talk about that because that parasite generation forms the vast majority of their core voter base. But if you want to talk about non productive people hoovering up state spending then you could definitely start there.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
CB Fry replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
In 2024 Tories were still twatting on about the Liam Byrne note that he left in the treasury in 2010 so I think Labour can still blame the Tories for the absolute fuck up they left behind in all public services. Let's remember the NI cut that Sunak put through was just salting the earth to make it more difficult for Labour because that was clearly not what the nation needed at that point with public services on their fucking knees. -
Four seasons at Blackburn and Armstrong never played Burnley (who were in the Prem the whole time). Must have played vs Preston though, which is a Saints vs Bournemouth not-really-a-derby derby.
