Feels a bit of a panic buy for Leeds. If they really wanted him they could have bid three weeks ago. Where he might have done OK in the Championship for us, the step up from Russian League to Prem could be like the steps up that the likes of Onuachu / Djenepo / Elyounoussi / Boufal / etc all failed to take. Good luck to him, if it actually happens.

Absolutely unbelievable unbeaten run he's on in the league, playing the Russell Martin way 👏 👍 😎

There are ten times more people absolutely desperate to do their holier-than-thou routine than there is saying "bin the manager".
-
something something everyone said that about rickie lambert etc etc etc 5 goals in 27 league games for a team that were one of the best 3 in the league last year. 5 goals. 5. This is not a return that this forum would call acceptable if that player was called, I don't know, Che Adams.

We should have signed Spertsyan.

We don't need no Armenians.

I didn't realise that the Norwegian that Ipswich have bought is a record breaking signing, biggest ever transfer fee for the Championship. Presumably he is some wonderkid because he stats now aren't great right now. I guess they think he is the next Haaland that will be worth £100m after a season in the Prem.
-
You know we bought a midfielder and a winger yesterday right?
-
Let's just put it out there that he is not the worst keeper in the division. I think the delusion is the hysteria that he is.
-
"Yeah, but what if they all turn out to be shit? Then what? Sack the board."

BBD was widely seen as an OK signing for a low price having just scored a decent amount for a relegation zone Prem team for the previous six months. Onuachu and Sulemana had been prolific in different leagues and were panicky signings, everyone knew it. Archer was nothing more than a decent Championship prospect similar to when we signed Armstrong. Today's deals really not comparable.

I see Ipswich made a flurry of signings today as well. Never really heard of any of them but they all look pretty underwhelming using my usual Wikipedia review. None jump out as anyone we have missed out on.

I wish we were Southampton.

Yeah, calm down with the open top bus parade. Sport Republic acquired us in Jan 22 as a long standing, established Premier League team. It will be not until May 2027 that we will see if they have managed to restore us to where they found us. What's happened this week is great work but it basically what is required to achieve the first step of that aim. So to use your exact terminology, how about you "shut the fuck up" until SR have managed to put Saints back to where they were when they bought them, as an established top division team? That's the whole story.

Let's take comfort in the fact that he's going to have a shit time at West Ham. The last Portuguese Bernado Big Bollocks who left us to go to the Hammers stank the place out and died on his arse. In 3 weeks time he'll have a new manager to impress, so good luck.

I've been offline pretty much all day so still catching up. Pretty amazing day and looking like a much better window. It's a shame about Matty but we didn't need him to go up. Well done Spors and Saints. Never in doubt
-
This is the kind of signing I was expecting Spors to be making all summer. Hopefully he makes a better immediate impact than Damion Downs.

Personally I respect the way that you hold on to your principles for at least 70% of the time, but never actually do anything with them.

Just popping on to say someone on Twitter has just called him Terry Vegetables. Brilliant.

Old school pitch invasion. Lovely stuff.

Man U keeper should be saving some Grimsby pens surely.

Well I think this guy is the final piece of the jigsaw. But the jigsaw is a picture of a puffin bring run over by a truck driven by Jimmy Savile. On fire.

How have you drawn that conclusion from those quotes? “I want to say that ‘Edik’ has been at the club for a long time, we have a very trusting relationship. We are not keeping him by force. Everything that will happen in the end is our joint decision,” Musayev says. “It is strange to me that you, the press, want Spertsyan to leave. I think that no country in the world would want to lose one of the most outstanding players in the championship. “Fedor Chalov, Anton Miranchuk, Arsen Zakharyan left, and what happened as a result? Did they become stronger when they left? Anton Miranchuk returned and will continue to delight us with his play. We must respect our championship and our players and not write that someone should leave. “If there is an offer that suits everyone, as was the case with Matvey Safonov, then okay. We will shake hands and thank him.” "Offer that suits everyone" does not just mean Saints pay more and he goes.
