  1. Have we ever played a none league team in the FA Cup. I was hoping for Cambridge away!!
  2. First 10 minutes we ripped them apart with a high tempo, and should have been 3-0 up. The rest of the half we were the better team, and were trying to play football with a mix of long passes forwards, but after we went one down we became a bit aimless. Needed to get level before half time or I think it could have been different. I thought we were going to come out of the blocks in the second half but up until we scored the half was terrible, and then be scored and ripped them apart again for 10 minutes, and then we decided that we were going to just hang on for the win when I thought we had a 3rd in us, only to nearly score before we tried to throw it away. A bit of an up and down game really and very scrappy in large periods of the game. 3 points was the most important thing today!!
  3. Used to love the area round there, and the Pizza Piazza they had there which I believe is now a Strada. Lovely part of the world as was Guildford, and of course Southampton.
  4. I watched them at Whaddon Road back in 1998 a few times when they were in the non league. I only lived in Cheltenham for a couple of months. Lansdown Place.
  5. So you do not like landlords or tenants? This thread has turned into something quite entertaining. I was expecting someone to say yes, and contact me and that would be it. I would have never thought it would cause so much friction!
  6. Oh no not the picture hanging again. There is something for everyone who wants anything done!
  7. Sounds a good shout that one mate.
  8. Sorry my boiler has been fixed, and what I thought was a simple requested ended up being a massive debate. At least it kept me going through yesterday, turned out quite entertaining!
  9. Leaving them until Friday was never an option. That is when I am in Southampton and down for the game and the weekend. I have been in contact with her (the tenant) all day, and said that I was trying to find someone to come round. An engineer would not have been able to come round until Thursday anyways, but that is neither here or there, as all I needed was for someone to do the easy job, that 'anyone' can carry out, as told by a customer service repair person. My tenant was not happy doing it, and this I respected. She did say that if someone could not come out and the engineer could not come out until Thursday, she could go and stay at her mums. I told her IF it was not sorted tonight I would 100% get someone out tomorrow to make sure it was working. It got fixed but I had someone booked in for tomorrow but not through the offical boiler repair service, but would have been sorted within the 48 hour period that it needed to be fixed.
  10. Not a bad result either. Saw it was 2-2, but not sure how the scoring went?
  11. I would tell the whole story, but do not feel the need to justify my actions. I asked on here, I asked my sister and my brother-in-law. If someone could not help out today then I already had a company lined up to fix it tomorrow. I thought I would ask first just to see. It is not a business, I work full time in accounts as a credit manager, I rent out the property to a person on benefit's who is a single mum with children. I do not even cover the mortgage on the property let alone running repairs. I get messed around by the housing benefit with payments, and I rent up in Cambridge. I always make sure that my tenants are looked after and try and get ALL repairs done as soon as possible as that is my responsibility, and me and my wife have just been without heating for 3 weeks and we rent through an agency. IF I lived in Southampton or even a few miles away i would have gone round myself. This is why some people hire an agency to look after the property, but they charge stupid money for the silly little things that need doing and take a cut for nothing, so I paid them out of the contract with the tenant at a cost of around £800.00. Money is not the issue here at all really, but if someone is willing to help and there have been 3 or 4 people on here then why not?? No harm done and everyone is happy about it!
  12. I think he is ripping the pee out of someone else on here.
  13. Now that is what I have done before and would have done if I was not 2.5/3 hours away. It is nice to know that you can rely on your Southampton Football Club family network to lend a helping hand, as I would do the same at the drop of a hat. I will make a token gesture as mentioned in the original post, and already have. Thanks again you have stopped a lot of stress for the tanant, and even though it was my responsibility I believe it has been handled correctly!
  14. Not I tried not to even get involved in it. But if you ever find out please let me know!
  15. Yes it really is that easy and does lose pressure. I spoke to the bloke at the boiler service phoneline and he said refer to the manual and do it yourself. As also quoted on here it is like turning a tap on and off!! He said you would be mad to call an engineer out!
  16. Like the summer. She only put it back on a couple of times in the last week, and then it dropped. Minor thing. All be sorted tonight I hope.
  17. It has happened before, the pressure in the house is naff, and the same with the radiators. Nope we checked this, below the boiler is the kitchen no leaks and the boiler is suspended of the ground. no leaks from any of the pipes. It is common with these boilers and it is only 13 months old brand spanking new the whole system.
  18. Thanks JustMike I will let you know but seems like my brother-in-law is hoping to get round there this evening after work. It is a 2 minute job, just the lady cannot fix it or is not happy to which is fine. For me it would be a 2.5 hour journey or she will wait to friday when I can do it for her.
  19. It is a job that I could do myself. I will be down on Friday, it is only the pressure, you do not need a qualified person to do it. I have asked mates but they will all be at work until 5/5.30 so was seening if a fellow Saints fan would help me out. She is fine to wait to Friday, but I will try and get sorted before then. She is not confidant with doing this herself as she has not been exposed to having to do this before. I have done her a huge favour in letting her rent the property on benefits and through a friend so not really a biggy. Just asking a favour!
  20. Itwill not reset and the pressure gage is below 0.5 and it should be between 1 and 2. It will not reset unless the pressure is right. the tentant told me about the pressure and the bloke on the other end of the phone confirmed it. He also said just get her to do it from the manual!! hmmm!
  21. yes he probably is... but doubt closet?
  22. I do not have a photo of my tenant, that would be a little bit odd!! Young 3 kids.
  23. No rats as I know of, but please do not take your shot gun!
  24. As I was posting this, I was thinking the same thing. Should I be offering people round to her house that I do not know? Hmmm. But she cannot fix it, and she is struggling big time with no heat. I am down saturday but that is not much good!
  25. Had a call today from the tenant a young lady saying that the boiler has broken, but it turns out that it just needs re-pressurising, which can be done by any Tom **** or Harry or anyone else really and an engineer is NOT needed. The problem is the tenant does not feel confident doing this, and I live in Cambridge. I was wondering if any of you kind gentlemen from the Southampton area could go and assist her? The instruction manual is at the property, and I have a copy that I can email to the person who can help. If you can help I will send the full address in Sholing, just PM me. I will sort the person out with a token gesture for their help. Cheers Kev
