  1. We'll see. I think you're right. Not because Button or Barricello haven't got what it takes, but because they might be eventually be consumed by the extra resources McLaren, Toyota and Ferrari can throw at the problem. However, we shouldn't overlook the big trump card Brawn have. Ross Brawn himself. If they are to succeed, he'll be their biggest asset.
  2. If I understand your problem correctly, you should be able to boot up Windows in safe mode and eliminate the password as the administrator editing the main account. Or I can assume it is something more complicated than that because you are on here asking for help.
  3. Tony Christie - Avenues and Alleyways
  4. There is no shame, it's just what you're used to. 10+ years ago Williams were the class of the field, and there were the times of Lotus, Tyrrell, Cooper, and others. There should be no tradition in any sport. Only winners to topple. Well done BrawnGP.
  5. Tbh, I think Hamilton did exactly what I thought he'd do, which was to show his racing prowess. He did as good as he could, given the machinery under him. Other drivers blew their chances while chasing the faster cars and places, but Lewis kept it tight, raced where he could, moved up where he could, and deserved his 3rd place, even if the car didn't. He got demoted enough times last season, why not let him be the beneficiary occassionally..? Credit where it was due. Lucky or not, grudging or not, you have to tip your hat. He kept it on track, and maximised the points behind VirginGP. Oops..! And very, very well done Jenson and Rubens too. Even if one fluffed a pitstop, and the other fluffed the start. They deserved their success. Just hope the Japanese fate spirit doesn't tramsmit in machinery to my Honda. They must be slightly sick.
  6. and final days testing going on at Jerez. James Toseland does a high side. For those people who wince easily, you have been warned: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/motorbikes/7971063.stm And I'm in the market for a bike again. Thankfully JT is supposedly fine-ish.
  7. TG, can you get [Drax] them to look at this..? http://www.absalutecology.com/home.html It's a way of scrubbing the industrial flue emssions so that there is practically nothing but ordinary atmosphere being emitted. The Germans and Americans know lots about this, but the authorities in this country know sod all, and they shake their heads wondering what they can do to cut down on pollutents in a world where coal is being seen as a viable alternative again.
  8. I agree. It was just a bit of a laugh really.
  9. Oh I don't know. There was a time when Lenny was funny. But he's been around so long now, that he's become a bit of the comedy furniture. It's almost accepted that you're supposed to like him. He's become a social commentator for Comic Relief and for black issues. I think the world is better for having Lenny Henry in it, but I don't find him hugely funny. But he brings the odd smile, and he does get a message across. Wish he'd stop those bloody hotel adverts though, and let Hazell get back to being a detective.
  10. Stayed with friends, and we all took part. At one point, I popped up to the loo to have a pee, and the candle I took with me slid off the cistern and nearly dropped into the water. Didn't know which thing to catch hold of..!
  11. I remember the 1970's experiment with British Standard Time. It was superb having those summer evenings that seemed to go on forever [not literally, obviously]. Being on the beach at 9pm, and it still being balmy. Felt like the mediterranean. Let's have it back. And as I've always said... b******* to Scotland..!
  12. Oh well, it all went on your bill.
  13. No, the clocks went forward, so it became 3am. I think you perhaps drank the bar too dry.
  14. You do realise you're cheering on the Kiwis then..? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_McLaren No bad thing, I suppose.
  15. I notice your top secret source is that much maligned James Allen, who knows a lot more than people give him credit for, and actually was just a bad commentator, not a bad pundit.
  16. Everything..! I'm off out.
  17. Possibly, but a change into BST, which makes all the difference to me.
  18. Well, all people who keep an eye on such things knew BTF, and I nearly posted something similar to your own a couple of times, but I couldn't be arsed. It's not as if the Brown haters are going to come around on a little thing like that, are they. Let's just hope he didn't bow in her presence.
  19. The best news so far this year.
  20. Got my electricity bill in for the last quarter a couple of weeks ago. I have used half the power that I did for the same quarter last year. And all I did was make sure I had high efficiency light bulbs everywhere, and turned off the immersion heater, so that I just have showers. It was no absolutely hardship at all. Needless to say, I shall be joining in.
  21. Frankly, I'm at odds as to who you are referring to, mate.
  22. And that's a good answer. I raised the question because, last season it was clear who ITV thought was the best driver in the pack - Hamilton, with Alonso, and latterly Massa, being a close second. Now Lewis may well be the best driver; he's certainly a superb wet surface driver, and one who can tame a car without driver aids. For comparison, one can look at Raikkonnen, who was World Champion, yet clearly isn't quite the full package, as his car control in less than ideal conditions is flawed. He was also slower than his teammate last season, while Hamilton was miles ahead of his. It will be interesting to see whether Hamilton can claw some competitiveness out of the McLaren, and where Kovalainen ends up. Perhaps then we'll see how good Hamilton really is. My hunch is that he'll show his real racing pedigree. But will we give credit where it's deserved, now that the spotlight is off him..? BTW, come on Jenson..!
  23. It's a bit difficult to follow the driver you support if the coverage just follows the drivers at Ferrari, McLaren, etc... Thankfully, the BBC has no recent history on this, so they aren't going to look foolish. And I expect a rather more balanced output from them. LeGod forbid, if ITV had stumbled on, they would have looked extremely plastic, with their fawning over Hamilton, Ferrari, etc... during their coverage period. EDIT: But this season raises the question again.. is it the driver who wins a championship, or is it the car..? Who is actually best..?
  24. Have to agree with the previous poster on this Arizona. There's nothing wrong with shouting for your own countrymen. Though I suspect you are thinking of the breed of muppets, rather than supporters. For example, it might go like this: In F1, one supports Hamilton, Button, etc... but admires Massa, Vettel, etc.. In MotoGP, one supports Toseland, but admires Rossi. You can have a split loyalty, and still not be a muppet. And there's no confusion as to who we want to win. Except that being half Italian allows me want Rossi to win too..! As to the BBC coverage, I came in very late last night, and there was some Saturday practice going. I thought Jake Humphries to be his usual extremely professional self. How old is that guy..? He looks as if he's in his early 20's, and he presents like a mature anchorman. Coulthard and Jordon looked a bit itchy, but they don't have the presenting background. No doubt they'll find their feet, just as Brundle did. Just before I turned the TV off to go to bed the thought struck me... no adverts..! How bloody wonderful. It improved the whole thing 1000%. I think I can actually look forward to this sideshow.
