  1. I've archived a few things on CDs over the years. Thought I'd look through a few. I stumbled across these screen prints of web pages from Saints Forever on the first CD I tried. It's a thread about whether Le Tiss should be the next manager. I saved it because he himself replied. Apologies to Keith Legg if he feels they shouldn't be shown: EDIT: Just in case KL does look in on this website..!
  2. I was a member of the RED webpage Saints Forever in 1999, maybe even 1998, as I was still living in Kent back then. I think it had been going since 1996/97.
  3. Here's a direct link for listening again [Realplayer required]: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/check/player/sol/newsid_7540000/newsid_7549000?redirect=7549096.stm&news=1&nbram=1&bbram=1&nbwm=1&bbwm=1
  4. ...Russian tanks have just crossed the Georgia border. Oh dear..!
  5. Optimistic thread heading post, which is refreshing to say the least. We shall see how the season is going to pan out after 10 games or so. For now, all the positivism is good, and things seem to be alright, given the club's constraints. But a competitive ball hasn't even been kicked. Let's keep it up for when things aren't going so well, and show our support, eh..? Beginning with 3pm tomorrow and 5pm on the last day of the season.
  6. You could lose several hours playing this one: http://www.miniclip.com/games/governor-of-poker/en/ And this is great fun. I love hitting home runs, especially on the harder setting: http://www.miniclip.com/games/baseball/en/ Intro tune is good too.
  7. Almost any photo editing software willl reduce a picture to the the required pixel dimensions. Just pick one that will still look ok once it's reduced; crop it to a square first, if it needs it, and then reduce.
  8. Sad. Despite his lack of goals last season, I still think Saga is class. But if he wants to go then it's probably best for him and us.
  9. Q. Given that the club are now focussing on giving the younger players a real chance, what are the prospects of established players like Saganowski, Rasiak, John, Euell, Skacel etc... being at the club for more than 6 months. Is it the intention of the club to cash in or will they be retained if possible..?
  10. I find it all rather strange, this points deduction thing. I mean, it's the football equivalent of kicking a man when he's down. Do the football authorities think every club is Leeds United, and therefore trying to pull a fast one..?
  11. And speaking of blubbing at fictional stories [and graveyards], the film guaranteed to set me off is Saving Private Ryan. It's not all the fighting, which was shocking enough first time round, but the bit at the end where a saved Private Ryan [Matt Damon] looks down on a dying Captain Miller [Tom Hanks] who whispers... Earn this..! Ryan morphs into his much older self standing in front of Capt Miller's headstone, at the Ohama Beach cemetery, and he turns to his wife and asks if he has been a good man. He's unsure whether he's earned his right to live, after all the others went through to save him, and it's a guaranteed blub moment. Not crying, just tear streaming stuff.
  12. Pretty much same here. Whilst on holiday in S.France earlier this year, I ventured into one of their ordinary village cemeteries. The French do these things so well, and convey very great respect for those that have lived and died before us. I came across a very moving tribute to the fallen soldiers and civilians of WW1 and WW2 from the village and environs. There was also a dark blue plaque set against a facade of an old house. It read of a chap who was dragged from his home, into the village square, and shot by Gestapo and SS officers, for hiding an escaped POW. Years ago I'd have been able to control my emotions, but nowadays, despite every effort to contain myself, the tears just fall. I think it's a part of getting older and appreciating life far more.
  13. Version 6 certainly has it. I haven't got an up-and-running copy of anything earlier. If you're interested in how far back this facility goes, try downloading earlier versions from the link to find out. It's perfectly ok to do so, as they point out in the blurb on the webpage. www.oldversion.com Just go to the Nero archive. Here it is in V.6. Note the ticked box and selectable time for Crossfading. BTW, it looks old fashioned because you're looking at Windows ME. Working perfectly, I might add.
  14. Although I can't recommend latest versions of Nero for their overall effectiveness in use, they do indeed provide the facility to merge tracks into each other. You do it right at the point of burning the CD itself with Nero Burning ROM. In most versions, once you've selected your tracks, you select every track after the first one and right-click on it, selecting properties thereafter. At the bottom of the page will be a merge track start/end facility, with how many seconds you wish to commit to the merge. OK now..?
