They just had an Interview with a reporter & amongst the interview he said the board were meeting at the moment that they were surprised that the news had broke as they thought that they were ok with the tax man & there legal team were looking at the petition as they believed it may be illegal. not precise word but that was the gist of it SC
-
Also LOL at their legal team are looking into the winding up petition as they feel its illegal

Yes would agree with that if clause is valid as we seem to think. Seems that the players are all they've got as saleable assets & must be paid so they can sell them ¬ lose them for nothing.

Thanks for confirming that Hypo I also thought along those lines, but didn't post as I couldn't find any definitive answers for that scenario. Do you know that as fact or just think it's so like me?

Thanks for that Saintbletch you've answered what I was thinking. I was wondering if others would also go this route. ie Lens have been making noises about legal representation. this could well spook others to go this route. Looks like end game time to me.

Not strictly true statement. It says that HMRC have issued Portsmouth football club with a winding up petition, as has already been stated.

Ed Chamberlain must be having a job keeping a straight face, & putting on an (oh dear how really troubling for them face).
-
So they have 4 weeks to find enough money to pay HMRC by Feb. Just being reported on Sky Sports news now & awaiting a statement from Poopey. The bell is well & truly tolling now!

Up until now PES you've talked a lot of sense, and I guess you've got some argument here, but lets face it, its just the history & memories that you're hanging on too. I can't see how you'd rather have a ramshackle S**te hole over a bright shiny new soulless bowl of a stadium, which may just help get you out of the POO your currently in. I don't think its anything about aesthetics. I've been to several new stadiums & and as you say they lack soul, but that is down to the newness of the stadiums & because they have no history or memories. If you'd been around when Saints moved to the Dell & Pompey opened Fratton then I guess we'd be saying that they were soulless boxes of stadiums. I remember the first time I went to Wembley, I was so looking forward to it (because of the history), it gave me goose bumps going up Wembley way. but once in side I couldn't believe how bad it was. Now the new Wembley is so much better than the old (went with Brother in Law to Stockports play of final). Now maybe its because its on the old footprint, that still gives it that special feeling I don't know? Many of the new grounds are on new site's & that is maybe what makes them soulless.

This season has been all about getting things in place for next year IMHO. We need to get the right players in, in the transfer window, & make this a solid defence. If the defence is tight & not conceding it gives the confidence for the midfield to attack with confidence. We've been a little bit more negative against the higher placed teams because of the lack of confidence in the defence & tried to protect them to much. now with the right players brought in we could go on a run that would see us nick a play off place, & I would love to be proved wrong about this.

Until we sort the defence out once & for all we will continue to lose these sort of games. Now I thought the team was right at the start to try to compete against a physical side & protect our back 4. It proved wrong & throwing caution to the wind we were a real threat 2nd half, however it exposed our leaky defence & cost us in the end. I know its not all doom & gloom their Keeper made what sounded like at least 3 blinding saves & on another day we may have got back into it. Hopefully we can get the defence sorted in January.
