I can agree with your concerns TDD. but I think that we are a loss leader at the moment. NC & ML both new it would take a few bob to rehabilitate the whole place. We all know we were just a shell when they took over. And whilst they are spending massively for league-1 & including CCC standards, they are building for the future. Over this transfer window & the summer, I expect that there will be a lot of dead wood shifted out, to reduce the wage bill, we do seem to be going for better quality players now. So for now lets just enjoy the ride, BUT never forget where we've just been.

If we could get him & rehabilitate him, & he got even close to his previous form. It would be a fabulous signing. Could well be what AP was talking about on Saturday. When he was fit & at his peak for Derby he was a real threat, & there were plenty of Prem teams looking at him. The thing only thing that makes me worry is why are Derby letting him go on a free? They obviously feel he will never regain his match fitness! Or is it that they can't come to an agreement on a new deal?

I'd go & get it checked, cant do you any harm. I've had trouble with my left knee playing football as a youngster about your age, I tackled someone straight legged & it popped out but popped straight back in. from then I had it a few times, but it never came out completely. So I left it, but a couple of years ago I twisted my knee & it came out completely. Had to go to hospital to get it put back in. They said that my knees had a tendency to push to the outside, but physio has sorted that by excersise's designed to strengthen the tendons/ligaments on the inside to pull it the right way. So I'd go as your knees seem to have a similar tendancy, you may solve it with physio.

As I've said above my Mrs is a caretaker, just checked with her & she holds her CRB paperwork, the school's get a copy of it. So there should not be a problem for teachers to go to another school with their paperwork. HTH

I think its got a lot to do with the liability culture that is about today. My Mrs is a school caretaker & they were open on Monday & on Tuesday the teachers all struggled in & they managed to get one entrance cleared & gritted for the Kids, the headteacher stood with my Mrs & said well we've done it were open, only for one of the parents to come up & harangue her for opening(they were 1 of the only school's open in Stockport that day)asking if they has enough food to feed them if they couldn't pick them up? Also if you slip on untreated Snow/ice you can't sue, but if someone had slipped on the path that they had opened & gritted/salted then the school would have been liable(crazy isn't it) So they shut Wed & Thurs, but opened once again on Friday with governors Teachers clearing the pathways Etc. I think people today look for an excuse not to do, rather than trying to do! take the easy option.

Would be an excellent signing, & give us some different options up front. Exiting time for us once again. As for the pressure that will come next season if we don't make the play-off's this year. Automatic will be expected, & probably for AP will need to be delivered.

I think that all the chopping & changing position for LJ hasn't helped him develop. I don't think he is the answer at RB, Ok as an emergency RB. I feel he could become a good defensive holding midfielder, but he needs time to develop into that. By that I mean he needs to be given a decent run at that position to grow into it. The lads been unfortunate really as he's done a decent job wherever he's been asked to play, and continually is asked to fill in whenever & wherever required. but if this continues he will always be a Jack of all trades & master of none.

Just read the updates this morning & it seems the pressure is really starting to mount now. With all the foreign clubs & agents now pressurising UEFA & FIFA, looks like the EPL will have some questions to answer as they can no longer keep this in house, & brush it under the carpet. I think FIFA have been dying to take action against the EPL for the last few years & Pompey are giving them the chance to do it. As for the Latset Shiek roumours, as Dubai Phil has explained they really are getting increasingly desperate & moronic. All season I have said that I think we will fall just short of a play off place, the signing we've made today, plus the possible other's coming in gives me hope that we may just scrape into a play off place. But if we don't make it up via the play off's this year, then I fully expect us to be challenging for the Top spot next year, & so will ML & NC as they are fully backing the manager. If we don't go up this year then the summer will probably see a lot of players being shipped out & 1 or 2 decent incomings once again.

Agree with that TDD I also argued for BD he has an excellent record at CCC level, always gets the best from his squad. I think he would have been a superb manager for us. But we will never know will we. More than happy with AP. AP on at 3.45pm

Had to laugh at that story when I read it, why would we even entertain a stupid loan deal with a permanent deal to follow in the summer. Just seems made up carp to push the Beckford deal trough. Its also another pointer to the fact that we've slipped under the radar re ML & NC, not many seem to realise that we are in a powerful financial position at the moment.

If we managed to get either Ward or Forte it would be good, but both would be Awesome, & send out a real message of intent. Exiting times at the moment, long may it continue.

Have to say I was under the impression that the sky money was to pay outstanding debt to English clubs only, but may be wrong. There had been quotes that they had 7-million to come but owed 10-million to English clubs & that Lens debt was on top of that. Also they only have 20 days until the next wages are due! Keeps the soap opera rolling on!
