Maybe some extra muscle in the middle to add to Diallo for when Romeu is injured or suspended. Sell Vestergaard if we need to raise funds. Bring in Armstrong. Or Eduoard. Cross fingers. Extra cash for Lookman from Ings if it's above £30m and definitely not to Spurs. Because they are arses. Also, swap out Ollie Lancashire already for Messi.

Agreed. Both are terrible and will cost us points this year (plus the confidence-sapping element that having players that average brings to the defence). It's an obvious need and yet again we seem to be blind to it. The strategy this time seems to be: 'we're strapped for cash, let's make one signing and then just bring the loans back and hope they have got better' Plus we still have Redmond.

Every time I see one of these I think 'oh, that's JWP off then'. Same true for Ings and forwards, and Vestergard when there's a CB linked. Our squad is very thin. and doesn't look very competitive to me. Plus we have retained McCarthy and Redmond, which I find a bit baffling.
