  1. Get out and dont come back is basically sacked on the spot. Normal process would then follow to get the contract canceled officially but it wouldnt stop the business proceeding to find a replacement and so on.
  2. Terry lost the England captaincy because of his screwing around because it effected another England player. Had Bridge still been at Chelsea he may have been punished more by his club? When the Manager over steps the mark it can effect the whole team more than just one player so maybe the punishments would differ. Playing well under Pards and not without him is bizare though. Next game will be interesting as the fans should get back to supporting the team and if Pards is not being supported and the team still play crap then we can strike off the idea that the players are arsed off with Pards support.
  3. I formed an opinion that I dont know if the club was right or not to sack Pardew based on the fact that I dont know why he was sacked. If I knew why he was sacked I might be able to change my opinion to agreeing with the club or disagreeing with the club. The rumour that he looks like the guy from the Pet Shop Boys was the cause for his sacking would get my vote but any of the other rumours and I am not so sure I would blindly follow the club.
  4. This pictures of the top players and top games are obviously worth something as otherwise the papers wouldnt bother putting them on there rags. They put the storys and pictures in because they want to sell papers. it means nothing to them if they dont have any league 1 pics in as they are not the pics and storys that sell papers. but if every prem club did this then what would the papers do? Start doing storys with no pictures? Not name the top teams? Report on the Championship instead? Or pay up and shut up? What im saying is, the papers couldnt give a stuff as we are just a L1 team and they think they can do what they like and make us look silly. Which will be what happens if no other club follows suit. NC's job on this is not to convince the rags that they should pay for pics. (they would pay you for a story with pic if you had something worth printing BTW) But to convince the other clubs that its the right thing to do. Will only work if all clubs do it. We are in a position were we dont need the publicity to earn us money so can afford to flick the V's at the press. If we get to the prem and are still in this position we will either get publicity for being "A South Coast Team" or sell a few pics. I dont see how we can lose really. But we and every other club can gain (even if just a little) if this becomes the norm.
  5. Couple of things on that, If you commit gross misconduct then you are liable to be sacked straight away. doesnt matter what time of year it is or what the implications are. You screw up and you are gone. So "IF" Pards has done something wrong that equates to gross misconduct then the timeing is arse biscuits for us but cant be helped for the club. Big IF though as its only rumour but it would make sense if it were to have any truth in the rumour. I think someone else posted somewhere about NC's background and it had a fair bit to do with Sport so not all banking. It doesnt make him the best man to run a fotball club of course and I guess he is on a very steep learning curve. But if I won the Euro Millions last year and bought the club then I would be even less qualified to run it but would still have a dam good go at it, as would anyone else. So far NC has tried to get in the best people to fill the roles needed at the club. He has sanctioned the transfers of the leagues best players and 1 or 2 from higher levels. He has brought in some top quality people behind the scenes in an attempt to attract the best youth to our club and create the best development for that youth. Our youth development has always been good and he wants it to be better. If that can be achieved then it can only bode well for our 1st team and our future. The good things he has done at our club out weigh the annoying things IMO. Its certainly worth giving it more time to see if the effect he is trying to have on the club turns out to be a good effect. So far we have had our best season since 2003 and are promotion favs this season. even after a flakey start and losing pards we are still one of the favs to go up. Lets see what happens next with the manager appointment and see how succesful that is. if promotion is not achieved this season then there will be questions asked from top to bottom and I doubt NC will be too happy that the investment is not working to plan and he will take action.
  6. To save me trawling through the thread, can you let me know who wants to be considered? Is there a guessed shortlist yet? From the rumours of how Pards got the boot it sounds like NC is not going out looking for a new manager but rather going over those that come to him saying they are interested. I doubt very many of those asking for a job are already in a management job so is there a list of out of work managers that could be on that list?
  7. It does still seem a mad decision and will fail ultimately if we are the only club that takes it on. I have a feeling that we will stick to our guns until others follow suit. Many other clubs are run by business men and if they see a way to generate even a small bit of revenue then they may give it a go. If every club in L1 did it then the press would not be too bothered. But if it spread to championship or prem level then the lack of football pics would screw up there sports pages to the point that someone would have to give in. I don't actually give a monkeys at the mo cause we wouldn't get much press anyway. In fact we are prob getting more because of this ban than we otherwise would. And any pics that would have made it to the press would have been free anyway so we are not losing anything.
  8. I suppose your right but that was a few years ago now. Wages in football go up quicker than a fart in a bath.
  9. Lol but who would take them to court? When the liquidation takes place aa will investigate the company he has just fudged through the system. He is hardly gong to come out and say the business was being run whilst insolvent all along and should have gone under so the results will probably show they were fine and it was no ones fault so shut up shop and move on. Just seems mad that the people handling the administration are the same to handle the liquidation. To me it would make more sense if they were different company's handling the admin and the liquidation.
  10. I voted don't know even though I know NC was right to sack pards if he was out of order but wrong if he wasn't. HTH
  11. Works for me. ) Might be worth putting something on the front page saying view's, rumours and opinions on this site are all guff so please don't sue us if we offend anyone. )
  12. Really? In today's scheme of things I would have thought that was lower end of championship wages.
  13. Sky sports seem to think it's around 80k and are happy to report that with no objections so who knows??
  14. Trouble is, the high earners are stupidly high. Utaka alone takes up 1 third of the budget and 10k wage cap is really cheap for championship wages. Half your squad would get double that elsewhere. But the half that would are prob still on there prem wages that are prob way over that 10k cap so happy to sit there milking the club.
  15. I have never really understood that. The administrator can pretty much do what he likes cause he can sweep everything under the rug when he is done. Is there no way his work is ratified or held to account?
  16. Well Utaka is taking up around 4160000 of that yearly budget and there is still Mokoena, Nugent, Mullins and Brown all still on higher wages than the 10k limit I would think and although no team numbers you still have Hreidarsson, Rocha and Kanu on your books. Do you really think your even close to the 13 mill budget for this year?
  17. Good to see them planning more additions when the ones they currently have are not cleared yet. "But the main thing from our point of view is that we have managed to get it over the line, subject to Football League clearance."
  18. Who else have they got on massive wages still? It must have helped to get rid of Wilson but he cant of been on anything near 80k per week so must have been more available to other clubs as wages could be offered to match. The team spirit will soon start to faulter when half the team are on the 10k limit but the other half are lapping up 50k and upwards.
  19. Ah of course, they are meant to be transfers so Pompy would be fixed for all there wages officially. It could be that Kitson is still getting some kind of payment from Stoke and if its to match the kind of money he would lose due to dropping to pompy's wage bracket then I doubt Stoke have paid a massive wedge up front. Could it be that Stoke will be making payments for some time to come? Is that even alloud in the FL? Like others have said however, the FL dont seem to have ratified all these signings pompy seem to be making, kanu doesnt have a shirt number yet so is he all signed and seeled to play for them or not? It wouldnt suprise me in the slightest if pompy sign whoever they like and all around will bend over and let them have what they want. But it would be nice to see the powers that be at least showing that they want clubs to do things the right way rather than use loop holes and dodges to get things made easy for them.
  20. Did they get rid of Utaka in the end? Sky Sports reported he is believed to be on 80k per week which is slightly over the 10k limit they are now operating. I can imagine Stoke are paying a portion of Kitson and Lawrence wages but that seems to be normal for most prem clubs loaning to Championship clubs. I would have thought Man City are maying most of Bellamys wages and Cardiff only paying a little. But if Pompy are still paying some of the massive wages that they couldnt shift then bringing any extra wages in must put them on shaky ground.
  21. Just a rumour fortunatly. How is your lot doing with its take over by the way?
  22. Personally I don't think we would get o'niell but not because he wouldn't drop down. If the job was right and success was achievable I think o'niell would jump at it. The problem I can see however is that o'niell likes to build a squad by bringing in the established players from elsewhere rather than building from the development centre. I think the next manager will be someone that buys into the whole structure of the club now rather than the traditional manager we are more used too. A high class Dutch duo type would be my guess but no idea who that may be.
  23. First reaction is shock. To win 4-0 away would normally grant a manager time to develope his squad and see where he goes. The wording in the statement seems to me that the whole setup wasn't working. I thought pardew was in favour of the whole setup? Was there a problem there that we were not aware of? After seeing Zola and copple's name a few times I can't say I am all that excited. I hope we would be upgrading the management team and those names IMO would be going the other way. I think the signings have been done by the team above pardew rather than by pardew so don't think it will halt the possibility of more if there are any.
  24. Thing is, if he gets game time for reading in the championship and they offer him a contract, why would be come back to us? If we get promotion he would have to be confident he could get in our 1st team as opposed to already being in readings 1st team. He might be good for us in L1 but moving forward our options may change.
  25. Think we are all waiting for the FL to show they have a pair and enforce this rubbish transfer embargo. Until then or a fault on the CVA there doesn't seem like much news. Plus our club is far more interesting now.
