There should have been a huge frowny face after my post as Adrian Heath still rankles me to this day!!!!

What's more important ? The furture of SFC or its past ?

Indeed Ewell, but sadly it seems that some find that so difficult to understand. And it's also a very lazy way of debating, or alternatively a mask for those who cannot offer up a coherent response. -
With some goals more weighted than others (of course I'm not bitter 27 years on!!!!!!!!!)

Was the original sung by Rangers fans about Sandy Clark coming down from Airdrie???

If this story has legs and if he has the appetite and if the manager thinks his attitude is right and that Beattie could do a job, then why not. More than happy to accept NA's judgement, (and a little part of me would just love to see the odd glimpse of the old James Beattie). Cupping his hand to his ear still gives me a smile to this day.

Struggling a little in the games I have seen him, but hasn't been helped by either being part of a makeshift back four or having a new partner alongside him. To be honest I think he's easily good enough for this division and just adjusting to the step up, as think last couple of seasons have been a doddle for a player of his ability. Also think he could hack it in the top flight (but would need support from another strong player).

Some people obviously struggle with the concept of judging decisions on their individual merits and find it impossible to believe you can be very supportive of the overall thrust/direction of something, whilst at the same time having concerns regarding certain specific issues (and those specifics don't have to invalidate the whole plan, nor make you anti the whole plan, nor bring the whole plan in to question, nor be enough to railroad the plan, ad nauseum). The last time I checked we hadn't all signed up to some kind of Cabinet Collective Responsibility when we bought our season tickets. -
I think one was the sub who hadn't come on, another after the game had ended plus the manager!!!!!!! There's a great twitter thread on it under @BathCaty or something giving a commentary of the game.

Ian Wright and Ian Rush spring to mind to me, but then again they were so prolific in their days they were probably scoring against every team!!! Andy Ritchie pops up, but that might just be the importance of his goal(s), as does Eric gates (in his Ipswich days), but could have been any of that good Ipswich side. Whatmore of Bolton (along with Franky Worthington) got a few goals against us when we were promotion rivals. Nigel Callaghan (Watford) and Graham Roberts (Spurs) also ring bells. Is there a website or a definitive list out there anywhere????

Should be eminently possible (and perhaps even a requirement) to see both your past and your future as being important. One gives you memories of what the Club has been, whilst the other gives you dreams of what it might be. And I see that as being totally separate to an ongoing feud between 3 or 4 people. -
Expansion of The Dell. Was it ever possible??

Full Time At The Dell has it all documented and is another good read from the Hagiography boys -

It was something along the lines of "a former player who headed a so called consortium cost us important time in our efforts to rescue the club" and "these people from behind the scenes continue to seek to harm the club in pursuit of their personal agendas". It was around the time when the Pardew Out rumours were reaching a peak (programme pulled & club refuting the rumours) and I think Matty and others had expressed an opinion on the situation in the press. -

In the late 70's there was talk of buying the garage behind the Milton Road end, closing the road there and extending the Milton Road Terrace. The council wouldn't allow this. Then there was talk of buying the rows of houses behind The East Stand and turn the ground 90 degrees (this was around the same time as Wovles did their 90 turn). Not sure how far that got. There were also plans to mimic the new two tier Milton (circa 1981) up the Archers but once again the council wouldn't allow it. -

But none of this (and I don't agree with everything you have put above) is the same as saying Matty came close to destroying this Club. That is the part of your claim that I just simply do not accept. -
Can we at least make sure that this thread doesn't descend in to the disgraceful knocking of the Ex Saints Charity that happened last time around it was used as a political football by some to score some cheap points. It's a great little charity, doing great work for many years and is certainly a positive with regards the local community and the Club itself. As for this current piece of tittle tattle, well for me it's just the next round in this pointless and unnecessary feud.
-
It's been going both ways for quite a while now. Cortese at one point was accusing MLT and others of seeking to harm the club in pursuit of their personal agendas, whilst MLT and others have been giving it some as well.
-
But bothered enough to bring it up in an interview when everything appeared to have died down???
-
And a possible answer could have been: "With all the good things going on around the Club at the moment I would rather focus on the positives. We're doing well on and off the pitch, so would rather not go back over old ground. Let's focus on our great start to the season and our ambitions for the future". For someone so shrewd and sharp, it should have been fairly simple to side step this issue. Cortese was fairly savage about Matty's role in the Pinnacle take over a little while back. Obviously people will judge the digs/insults differently, but I think it is unfair to say it's one way traffic, or that one side has been worse than the other as both sides have displayed a great degree of ego, posturing and immature behaviour.

Absolutely, the price others may want to pay may simply not reconcile with the cost to the selling club.

LOL, there's a part of me that likes Eddie Mitchell giving as good as he gets (only a small part mind!!!). Well perhaps whoever is advising him needs to step up their game, plus the Italians are aware of how important history is to their clubs (I loved the fact that Juventus played Notts County to open their new ground when they could have played any host of more famous clubs).
