  1. Am I glad you edited this OP. I was fearing for your sanity for a minute!
  2. I think so too. It will be interesting to see how the other two stand up to him. I like his incisive agressive questioning but I do wish he'd give people a chance to answer.

  4. Poor Clegg was very flustered when interviewed by Paxman tonight.
  5. This bit in the article doesn't make sense: "The reason we were barred was because the club had to file financial accounts by May 31, 2009 but they haven't been filed because of the insolvency of the company as part of the current administration" But the club didn't go into administration until early this year! Edit Sorry Weston - didn't see that you'd posted this on the previous page
  6. The only factual example I can give is of the primary school that my son-in-law teaches in. Some of the children are of Asian origin (mainly Pakistani I think) and many are of West Indian origin. There are children of Chinese origin and increasingly children of Eastern European backgrounds. So quite a diverse mix. The school is one of the best performers in the town. My s-i-l says children of that age learn English very quickly and it only causes slight problems occasionally. The children are all taught in English. Some of the children have special tuition before / after school if it's felt necessary. In the same way as my grandson has special tuition because he is very advanced compared to his peers and is classed as having special needs too.

  8. Soppy I can only speak for myself. I abhor censorship of any sort. I believe that political parties like the BNP should be able to spout their vile diatribe (in the hope that people will see them for what they are) I absolutely believe in Freedom of Speech. I think censorship is dangerous, mainly because no-one can ever forsee what might be censored in the future. I have no problem with people watching Boyle or any other comedian - and laughing if they're comfortable with that. I wouldn't ever advocate that such 'comedians' are banned. All I have EVER said is that, having seen him on TV, I don't find his humour appealing at all and I wouldn't hand over any of my hard-earned to him. I've then tried to explain why I don't think he's funny. If others do, well that's their prerogative. Let's just hope it doesn't bite them in the bum one day.
  9. I think Plaid and the SNP might gang up with Labour too. Whichever way it goes, it will mean the minority parties have a much bigger say in how things are run than the electorate have given them. And the global economies will get the jitters too.
  10. I'm not looking for respect for myself. The respect I appreciate is from people I like and admire. So that rules out a fair few on here. I would just ask for respect for others but especially those that are disadvantaged in one way or another. Not a lot to ask really.
  11. Jilly hun - I googled it to see if I could find some advice for you but there's so many entries! Google it and see - seems to be bicarb is the most popular answer. xx
  12. What will happen if you take it if you have neither?
  13. More honest than twisting my words though. And still no answer either - quelle surprise!
  14. Instead of trying to twist what I'm saying, why don't you devote some of your valuable time to answering questions I asked you yesterday that I see you have chosen to ignore Quote: Originally Posted by Thedelldays simple question....they go to work...refusing should not be an option....why should we/i pay for someone who REFUSES to work.. maybe if they REFUSE to work they are not capable of being parents in the first place But you still haven't anwered my question! Maybe they're not capable of being parents - but if they already are.....? What happens to the children? Easy question.
  15. It depends on whether or not it is done maliciously. And most 'humour' aimed at Asians is malicious. viz Roy Chubby Brown, Jim Davidson. Nastiness, maliciousness and humour do not go hand in hand. But maybe you like being nasty?
  16. Great idea! Could someone compose a clever template letter that we could copy and paste (and amend slightly so that they're not all the same). I'd be happy to send such an email and I don't have a SO postcode
  17. Where on earth have I EVER said that? You need help - you're hallucinating now.
  18. You can if you come up with a rational defence of your position. You haven't.
