  1. I asked this earlier - perhaps no-one knows the answer: Will there be an independent examination of their books or will the court just take PFC's word for its financial situation? I mean they could over-exaggerate their assets and minimise their liabilities if no-one was appointed to verify the facts. I'm not suggesting they're dishonest BTW
  2. SSN just reported that PFC received £90K for the last round of the FA cup (and that's how they settled some small debts) and that they will receive their share of the gate this Saturday. That'll stave of administration f'sure
  3. How will the Court know that the Statement of Affairs isn't another figment of their imagination?
  4. But - in 9 days time - they will still be insolvent. Their liabilities will still far outweigh their assets. They might as well offer a Euromillions ticket as proof of future income. It's the here and now that matters, surely :smt102
  5. Government stating they're insolvent. PFC that is
  6. I've got my knitting out
  7. OK I give up - what DOES happen?
  8. SSN were talking to David Conn (from the Guardian) about 10 minutes ago. I really respect this man. He thinks winding up is unlikely. But he was talking about the victims. He especially mentioned St John Ambulance who give their services for free but ask for expenses (bandages, ambulance costs). They haven't been paid
  9. Hmmmm it's the housework that's gone to pot here
  10. Doesn't the Notts County actually militate against PFC if they're seeking to use it as precedent? Didn't the supposed Notts County buyout actually collapse after NC were granted a reprieve?
  11. But playing in an English league
  12. That's why I put '....' round the word big
  13. Given the large amount of media coverage today about Pompey, Cardiff and Southend, I really think this is all going to explode. Do you think HMRC will respond to the media pressure and decide to make an example of one 'big' club at last?
  14. Good article (as usual) from David Conn of the Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2010/feb/10/portsmouth-cardiff-hmrc-winding-up
  15. The hospital employs 7,000 and goodness knows how many the council employs
  16. And additionally - you owe all of US the money!
  17. Grosvenor Basingstoke have dropped their participation in the WUP because they've been paid.
  18. Big report on BBC South Today NOW
  19. Let's hope HMRC puts them in their plaice.
  20. I no longer work, but my union, Unison, has helped me out on a couple of occasions - the most recent being last summer. The shopworker's union helped my daughter negotiate a substantial out-of-court settlement with a well-known electrical retailer. Aah - I've just realised that you were referring to Bridgey rather than me  Yes, you're probably right. It's a shame that some industries don't recognise trade unions.
  21. ^ I like the bit in the third paragraph from the end 'woefully insolvent'. Rings a few bells
  22. Cardiff have reached 'an amicable settlement' and Southend have paid up in full.
  23. Your Trade Union would be able to give you sound advice.
  24. Two interesting things I've noticed trawling through the lists: 1. Three other sports clubs being heard - Hinckley, Brighton (Rugby) and Southend United. 2. Two petitions for Portsmouth. It will be interesting to see if the court treats Portsmouth any differently to the other sports clubs. Oh I missed Cardiff
  25. BBC South saying frantic negotiations still ongoing. If no deal is struck today, WUP will be heard at 10.30 tomorrow.
