  1. I wonder if the plethora of lawyers are getting paid on time If I was a part-time ticket office clerk (and let's face it, they probably only need to employ part-timers) I'd be mightily ******ed off if the lawyers got paid on time and I didn't.
  2. I think the other parties have settled / been paid off, Stu
  3. From that article: "Portsmouth say......." Yeah right
  4. Report just now on South Today about the problems the disparate ownership of the surrounding land and the stadium will cause. Council spokesman saying that the ground itself cannot be used for development other than sports related.
  5. I've found out a bit about my paternal grandfather. I don't think he served in WWII but in the first war he was, so the story goes, sentenced to death as a traitor! It seems he was on look-out and the rules were that you didn't step down until your replacement stepped up (common sense). However, he passed out and fell before his replacement had stepped up - hence the charge of deserting his post and therefore being a traitor. It turns out that his mother had to petition the king for his sentence to be commuted and he spent some considerable time in prison. Scary stuff
  6. He's not very good at this business malarky, is he This must be about the third company of his that's gone t**s up! I bet his dad's well p*ssed off with bailing him out time and time again. Or is something sinister going on? Surely not!
  7. In your wildest dreams, sweetie PM me about the NB BTW?
  8. Cheeky boy
  9. It's all stopped here now, thank goodness
  10. Is there room?
  11. Sorry I didn't express myself properly. What I should have said was that the company that Chainrai owns is responsible for its debts. It's a limited company so shareholders aren't personally liable.
  12. He owns the club now, surely? If that's the case, he's responsible for all the club's debts I would have thought :smt102
  13. Snowing here too I'm fed up with snow now.
  14. I didn't find out until we were arranging her funeral, but apparently my mother was cycling from the Central Library down to the Floating Bridge when she was strafed (sp?). She got hit in one leg (nothing too serious though) when she was close to the Central Hall.
  15. Brilliant! Great stuff!
  16. And, your Honour, Mr Gaydamak won't pass the FPPT.
  17. Not unlike many of the contributors to this forum then, eh?
  18. Any point - the earth's a globe, or hadn't you noticed
  19. I think he means the High Court doesn't give a flying **** about the fact that its a football team.
  20. Another £3m they've got to find then
  21. Much as I'd like the world to know how wrong their priorities are, I think the judge will only give his judgement on the tax matters. He's not there to judge on how they spend 'their' money in general. Unfortunately
  22. Aren't there additional points deductions if a club has been in administration before? Or is that wishful thinking on my part
  23. Yep - I'll be the one with a bag over my head
  24. Well, I guess for you guys it'll be the White Horse. It's on the West Wycombe Road (the A40) beyond the turning for Adams Park towards the town centre.
  25. We should talk about the women too, you know! Sadly my grandmother had a nervous breakdown because Southampton was so badly bombed and her husband was serving. She did recover but it must have been dreadful for her and countless others. My mother was in the TAs at Marchwood, tuning trucks and my aunt was in the Land Army. Another aunt was involved in something quite hush hush (but not like Bletchley Park).
