  1. Finally! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-55862233 I guess now they've finally approved the vaccine they can start looking for a supply.
  2. It's also claimed to stop people from becoming 'seriously ill' therefore will reduce the pressure on the NHS, I guess that's where the 'excitement' comes from. Less people seriously ill = less people in hospital = less deaths = less restrictions on life.
  3. So we can sell the excess to the highest bidder
  4. Have you noticed the title of this thread?
  5. Don't worry, I understand your argument, I just think it's pony! If the EU had any intention of keeping London as the principal clearing House, then they wouldn't have started negotiating with NY SIX years before Brexit became a reality. There are plenty of things you can bash Brexit for, this one is stretching the truth to say the least!!
  6. Ah, right, that must be the reason why they didn't reach any agreement in the six years following the start of the negotiations. I've seriously underestimated the EU and their ability to predict the future so accurately. Odd though that they didn't let the remain campaign know what was going to happen as they told us it was all going to move to Frankfurt. The flip side of your argument is that it was always going to happen anyway, but I guess you're way too blinkered to even consider that possibility...
  7. If he's going to blame the consequences of the deal between them - that they were negotiating since 2010 - on the Brexit vote that happened six years after they started negotiating, then I'd say yes. Wouldn't you?
  8. Is this the deal they started negotiating in 2010?
  9. Source? The link I posted to the AZ CEO statement said that they would not divulge details of the contract due to an NDA. Have you a link to them paying less?
  10. That's unlike you not to have the balls to make a decision and sit on the fence, oh, wait, no, that's not right is it! What about your obsessed weirdos like Tamesaint and Unbelievable Jeff (same person) who have stated they will never accept Brexit - surely they would have a campaign to re-join up and running? What happened to your 'we've only been out 26 days' mantra, or does that only apply to remain movements, given that you've decided that Brexit is looking like a cluster-fuck after only 27 days
  11. A reasoned explanation from the CEO of AZ here Essentially he's saying that EU processing is experiencing similar 'teething' problems to those encountered in the UK, however, the UK is three months ahead in terms of production due to signing the agreements three months earlier! This quote from him is enlightening :
  12. Exactly. In North Korea you have to isolate in an isolation 'facility' for 40 days. Once you've finished with your isolation you are then moved to a 'quarantine' facility for a further 30 days. Zero recorded cases. We should be more like North Korea.
  13. Four years to organise, find a leader, get a coherent message together, design a leaflet. What has been achieved, fuck all. Stop whining about it and get those winning plans in place - obviously not you, but someone else! You didn't have the cohones to vote one way or the other, no chance you'll have the stones required to get something this big off the ground
  14. Able, yes, as was the rest of the EU. Obliged to toe the line and work together as a bloc is the reality for those that weren't planning to leave - well, except Germany who have apparently gone behind every one else's backs and arranged their own deals on to of what the bloc agreed...
  15. And yet no "rejoin" campaign off the ground yet. Four years and not even a single leaflet produced for the campaign. WTF is all your waffle regarding eerie silence about - or are you just making up your usual pony and pretending that's what I said?
  16. That's what we had during our summer - the point is that the virus appears to be less virulent during the summer months. Presumably because more people spend more time outside during the summer? Couple that with Australia's entry rules to the country - apparently they still have around 40,000 of their own citizens waiting to return home but no available space in their quarantine system for them! - which costs up to £2000 per person. If we had the same rules for all arrivals since lockdown 1 ended, we would probably have the same 'freedoms' over the winter as well. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55813987
  17. The ardent anti-Brexiters have had the last four years to get something going, not just 26 days. How much time do they need?
  18. Sounds familiar, almost identical to the hardly onerous restrictions we had in place during our summer.
  19. More normal than "here" during our summer?
  20. To be fair, it's pretty much just CB Fry that claims that Europe referendums are once in a lifetime events. But then goes on to contradict himself as he expects a government to be elected 'sometime in the future' that will join the single market again He seems to have forgotten that we have elections every 5 years so we could rejoin Europe as early as June 2024 if there is enough support for anyone campaigining for the country to do so....
  21. Interestingly, the article link below contains the following : https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/causesofdeath/bulletins/coronaviruscovid19relateddeathsbyoccupationenglandandwales/deathsregisteredbetween9marchand28december2020 Whilst it doesn't state how many of those had underlying conditions, it does acknowlege that they are included in the number.
  22. In that case, statistically, no-one has died from Covid / coronavirus either, given that what kills them is repiratory, heart or kidney failure (predominantly). The same way that the aids 'virus' attacks organs in the body. https://www.devonlive.com/news/devon-news/covid-related-hospital-deaths-devon-4926980 https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/causesofdeath/bulletins/coronaviruscovid19relateddeathsbyoccupationenglandandwales/deathsregisteredbetween9marchand28december2020
  23. I agree with you 100%. Doesn't take away from the fact that for the overwhelming majority of the population it is similar to a bad flu! When it comes to the under 25s you can probably reduce that to the same as a bit of a cold. As I mentioned, there are certain groups for which the virus is devastating. Both concepts are able to exist at the same time.
