Not sure we're allowed to drive 'anywhere' in England yet - haven't they stated there should be a 'common sense' approach? Even so, Weston in theory shouldn't get busier as most of the town is based on 'leisure' - hotels, B&B's, shops, amusements, pubs, take aways etc which are all still closed - but who knows, that didn't stop them flocking to the beach in March....

Especially now the hospitals are empty

There was no need to keep the rest of your post in as there was nothing else I disagreed with. Bit sensitive aren't you?

Looks like we're all going on holiday to see Window Cleaner this summer https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52610594

Is this an exclusive wacky warehouse? You seem to have forgotten the other 3 parties they held that day with probably the same number of kids as in your example but all from different groups. Then there's the very nature of a WW with a ball pit etc, where, ignoring the fact that social distancing will be impossible to police amongst a group of hyperactive kids, those kids will be jumping, climbing, snotting, sneezing, coughing etc all over the equipment. WWs are basically germ warfare, but in the grand scheme of things, ordinarily that isn't a bad thing as kids need to be introduced to germs in order to increase their immune systems...

You haven't answered the question, but let's run with it. It seems that what you're saying is that apart from restaurants, pretty much everywhere else is safe to visit? It's therefore incredibly confusing to work out why the 'home' / 'family residence' is where the majority of infections occur. You know, the place where most people spend a lot of time in close proximity to one another. Surely that should be the place where least infections occur given that anyone who leaves the house is going to a 'safe' place and is not likely to catch the virus in the first place in order to spread it around when they get home? Is that how it works?
-
Do you think that more, less or about the same number of people would have been infected if the Government hadn't closed down pubs, bars, restaurants, football matches etc etc?

Not just selfish d1ckh3ads in the UK : https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-52601750

Not sure what your point is. Harries was asked during one of the press conferences (Friday?) by the press, where do most infections happen. Clearly they were expecting her to answer with hospital, bus, train etc, but she was quite clear when she stated in the 'family unit at home'.

You Made It Up Which bit are you struggling with?

What date did the PM / Government tell people not to go to pubs, restaurants, gyms etc etc, but hadn't 'officially' closed them - from memory it was about a week or so before the 23rd March wasn't it? Surely that would have had an affect on travel?

Cost. It costs money to employ someone to stand there and sign, whereas the computer that tranlates text to speech for the subtitles doesn't need to be paid...
-
Lol, page not found on that link, must've been pulled already If lockdown hasn't been influenced by government policy decisions or actions, why are all pubs and restaurants closed? Do you think the entire leisure industry shut itself down voluntarily? Presumably this doesn't count as Government policy? http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2020/7/contents/enacted

Yep, just like they do when watching a film, the news, soaps etc etc etc. Oh yeah, that's right, they use subtitles

Laura Kuennsberg (sp?) has stopped demanding anything with her continued inability to remember to unmute herself before asking a question

Pardon?

Since it has been clear from the start that only those sick, in hospital, with appropriate symptoms were being tested, it is impossible to say whether those people have died 'with' covid-19. Is it not generally accepted that deaths above and beyond the five year rolling average are generally assumed to be covid related? Surely there's an argument to include suicides and acute stress related deaths (likely to be a statistically small number), as they potentially wouldn't have happened had it not been for the virus?
-
Exactly this. There's a good chance the rest of this year and next year 'may' see a decrease against the rolling five year average as the most vulnerable have already succombed. As I said many pages back, time will tell. Who knows, we may still even see the 'worst case' / 'do nothing' scenario of 250,000 excess deaths for the year, especially if we hit 'peak mark 2'.
-
According to his twitter, it is Covid related deaths : https://twitter.com/statsjamie?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

So they're still not paying any tax

Lol. So, we should lock everyone up until there is a vaccine? That's the only way to stop infections. The actions taken so far have been to slow the spread, not stop it. Not once has anyone stood at a podium and claimed they were going to stop the spread. You appear to be under a lot of impressions that are wrong, or you really, really haven't been paying attention for the last 6 weeks.

For someone who really, really doesn't like Tommy Robinson, you sure do spend a lot of time reading what he has written and watching videos of him! I don't like marmite, I can quite happily walk past it in the supermarket and pretend it's not even there. I'd wager if you disliked marmite as much as you dislike Tommy Robinson, judging by your postings on here, you'd be likely to take the lid off every single pot in the marmite aisle of the supermaket and take a good lick of each and every pot, just to remind yourself how much you didn't like it and how annoyed you get by it!

Ah, I see, you made it up.
