As manager?!
-
I don't think those that run the club give a shit about what the fans think. We have already seen that with the closure in Itchen.
-
Are these guys really any different to Gao? They came in to much herald, did a few interviews and said the right things. Fast forward a few months and they completely fucked up the summer transfer window, didn't get rid of Ralph quick enough and our now looking to hire the manager of fuckin Luton Town. Just when you think the ambition of this club can't get any worse, you cam always expect the board to deliver something.
-
I feel sorry for Ralph. Clearly a decent bloke who cared deeply for us. I really wanted him to be successful here. Loved his passion when things were going well. I think SR have made several mistakes since they arrived. The first was to keep Semmens and Steele on. Second was obviously not getting a striker in. If these two things had happened, maybe we would have seen a different outcome. Wish him nothing but good luck in his next venture.
-
As a club we never learn from past mistakes. SR were supposed to herald a new era where we could actually be competitive. Feels like this appointment, should it hppen,is a massive step backwards, already getting Strurrock vibes from it.
-
I think it's a done deal to be honest. Been said on here that they have been tracking him for months. Just pretty deflating all around to be honest. Wolves and Villa go all out and get huge upgrades on what they had before, yet we still persist in having to be different. Being different is going to cost us our Premier League place.
-
I think the fact that a top 6 club didn't come in for him during the summer, after arguably his best season, tells you all you need to know about JWP. I absolutely believe we would have cashed in had we received an offer.
-
If the best we can do is Nathan Jones, should really just as well kept Ralph. Just be another in a long list of manager fuck ups this club has made.
-
I've never felt so low as a Saints fan than how I feel today. Even through the Branfoot days we had the genius that was Le Tiss to watch, well when he was picked anyway. The club now is completely soulless, devoid of any direction and leadership off and on the pitch. We just go through the motions every game. The players don't give a fuck, even JWP is a complete non entity this season. We have a bunch of players playing in the Premier League , who at least two thirds of should be playing in the Championship. Our recruitment has been a disaster, SR were heralded as some sort of god like structure when they brought the club, and yet when presented with an opportunity to do something special in the summer, they brought a load of kids, who probably with the exception of Lavia, have struggled massively to adapt. The recruitment guru who oversaw this couldn't wait to fuck off. And to top it all off, we didn't even get the forward we needed that every one of us knew we needed. We then plod along with Ralph, who arguably should have gone in the summer too, yet we keep trying the same shit with him which doesn't work. Now when finally they have the balls to sack him, we turn to the Championship yet again. Not for players this time though, but for a manager. A manager of the smallest club in the Championship no less. You just couldn't make this shit up. Am totally fed up with this club from the top. Supporters aren't valued. Away fans are treated better than home fans. The board telling us that we should be grateful to be in the Premier League and that it doesn't matter where we finish just as long as we are still in the league. Even the ground looks shit these days. Nobody at the top cares about anything, even Semmens said he wished he was doing something else on his weekends. I love my club, but have hated what it has become.
-
This is just so underwhelming and is typical of the club at the moment. Whilst Villa and Wolves bring in highly respected Spanish managers, we look to the smallest team in the Championship for a new manager. Pathetic doesn't even come close in my eyes. SR could have made a real statement of intent by getting in someone the players would respect and the fans get behind. Can only see this ending up with us going down now.
-
Totally agreed. The change should have been made in the summer. I like Ralph, really wanted him to be a success, but for whatever reason he has totally lost his way.
-
Be a huge gamble by the club though

Think Blackmore mentioned that on Solent a few weeks back. Seemed pretty random then, maybe there is something in it

Think you can discount Wolves. Far too much quality to go down.

Matters not. Where you finish in May is what counts.
-
Border is definitely Stubbington

That exactly my experiences too. I only got a fiver a week for my morning paper round. Rates must have been lower depending on where you lived! We always used to get at The Dell for bang one pm when they opened the turnstiles, so we could get down the front behind the goal at Milton Road. From what I remember it was £2 for us to get in. If I watch old TV clips from around 89/90 I can see myself and my mates clearly as we always took an inflatable banana with us. As you say great days -
I think generally they have been better run than us over the past few seasons.
