Not by everybody ... For a lot of us our judgement of a manager is based on how good a job they've done with the assets they have.

My understanding is there are three separate charges.

The bookies know what they are doing. Leicester really don't look good enough at the moment. I also think there will be a points deduction at some point & the bookies are factoring that in.

So Russell Martin got Southampton promoted but Frank Lampard failed with Derby County & Coventry. Does that mean that Martin is a better manager than Lampard or were Southampton a better team than Derby & Coventry. It can be difficult to judge managers using league position as a determining factor.

The plan even at this stage of the season has to be how to survive the Premier League. Long term planning is essential !!. Getting the right manager in is essential. Southampton need to get promotion ASAP to protect their assets but I'm not sure there is a plan in place.

I just can't imagine a scenario where a Southhampton fan would want Russell Martin back.

I feel that its fairly obvious that Martin can't last at Rangers. He's just holding on but it's a matter of time before it catches up with him . Do you think he will pick up another job easily or is he done ?
