They getting shown up by saints and not liking it.
-
Another stupid suicide pass by Alex. Nearly a goal.
-
But redeems himself with excellent saving tackle
-
Ryan gives away stupid pass in our box after we had best two mins possession.
-
More fucking around in the box by AM and it’s a corner. So unnecessary.
-
BBD cuts in from left and scores!!! 1-0
-
Is that your usual spot?
-
no AL no TP no RS and no BK or Larios. thats fruatrating. Was hoping ant least Adz would make it. No sam Edozie? Guess my main interest is in watching Sam Amo BBD and Charlie play and a second half Tyler cameo.

I’ve arrived at the Unity tap room. Almost empty. I usually get a bigger crowd than this. 😂

You might have hit the nail on the head. Hypothetically speaking, Being negative might just be he’s not getting with the RM programme and perhaps said so out loud. Bad mistake! RM has shipped out most non believers and we now have a homogenised & great team ethic it seems. Having someone at CB who may think being told to keep playing one twos in the penalty box with his keeper under pressure is nuts may be construed as heresy/ having a bad attitude. The next one with a bad attitude will be Charlie I reckon.
-
No sir. But then again I do not usually need to be told what my opinion is on someone’s character- I tend to work it out for myself. One man’s meat is another man’s poison as they say. This attitude stinks thing is perplexing seeing as he’s been gone a year. It’s obvious he’s going to go - especially as he plays same position as Club Captain third choice CB and fourth choice RM’s darling that’s he’s wanted for ages plus Ronnie but I dont think this attitude stinks thing is really all that tasteful a reason to publicise given that reality.
-
Ah. So it’s Adam Blackmore that says BK’s attitude stinks. Any corroboration? In the absence of anything other than Adams opinion I can offer a counter opinion : His attitude did not seem to stink to me when he was staying behind voluntarily to sign countless shirts for kids at the Open training session recently (unlike some other players ). However He has got a naturally surly countenance. Seems hard to get a smile out of him. Perhaps we should not judge people by what they look like but how well they actually play football? And nobody has seen him do that for far too long. Id love to actually see the bloke playing football again - in a Saints shirt. And if he’s not good enough get rid. But until then…
-
RM certainly highly values players who show they desperately want to be here. Whats your source for saying his attitude stinks? Seems repeated on here a bit but not seen proper explanation that’s not been torn to shreds as simply wrong. He’s not been back long and was a long time injured - and was not in Spain. Whats he done ?

@Give it to Ron I share your regret that we do not have anyone in the box to cross it to. And that the concept of doing so as a key attacking feature has almost been eradicated from Saints game. BUT- it’s obvious from day one of RM football that getting a cross into the box for the CF to put away is not the priority. Saints turn down countless opportunities to “ cross the ball” into the penalty area every match in favour of playing through and hoping to get pull backs to Will and AA. Is it chicken and egg? Would they cross it if they knew we had a conventional CF like your name sake or date I say it Tall Paul? Or do they not cross it because they know there’s usually nobody there or if so they are not brilliant at that kind of opportunity? Or, more likely, they are under strict instructions to NOT play that way. I think it’s the latter so I do not see us signing a “conventional” CF any time soon. Would be just a waste of space - like TP unfortunately - the way we currently play. IF we do sign another attacker I’d expect it to be a mf attacker or a wing based attacker - or both.

Wan Bissaka deal to West Ham, apparently, held up because he wants a payoff from Man Utd. West Ham, apparently, can pay £18M for him - but not that plus £90k pw. So he may have to take a pay cut. BUT, if WB is an £18M £90k pw player whose main claim to fame as a retro styled FB was that he could tackle it shows why we are not entertaining lowball offers for KWP. KWP is now a modern attacking FB and IMO would fit very well in many current mid level EPL teams. Most Especially those that dominate possession. Perhaps even as high as Man Utd. If he’s available for c £15M -£20m then I think he will go by end of window.

Def red carded.

Charlie is the most obvious player to replace O’Riley's role at Celtic. Not Shea. They play completely different positions ( though I believe Shea can play further upfield whereas Charlie would not work as a #6 imo. ) Ive posted this before but I think loan Charlie ➡️Celtic would tick a lot of boxes for him, for Brendan - and for Saints - as well as sweeten the medicine of selling O’Riley to us.
-
Quite right it’s been obvious a while. Just would like to point out that sometimes , in fact quite often, the body of a football manager can contradict what his mouth is saying - if you know where and how and what to look for. And it’s not just scratching his nose! In this instance it did not. It’s why police often put parental suspects up for public appeals for missing kids. They film and study the body language afterwards to see if somethings not right. Many lying bad people been caught that way. Not putting RM in that category- though I’ve not seen him answering a RS injury question satisfactorily yet…
-
Watched this twice checking body language and RM has verbally and non verbally said KWP is going to leave. His body language and words were also truthful when he talked about Carvalho and not knowing what was the situation. A variety of shoulder shrugging movements and his talking rhythm and speed confirm that.
-
Totally Agree we are low on quality in the squad. Do you happen to be aware of what SR’s financial objectives are for this season as opposed to the mid to longer term objectives? How rigidly or otherwise they intend to stick to that objective determines how much or how little we will spend. To date, last twelve months I’d say the regime is accountant led not footballing led. Probably rightly so but that’s not what fans want to hear.
-
KWP is not match fit as a consequence either. So if nobody wants him at the price quoted he cannot play anyways. Or he can but is much more likely to injure himself so it cuts both ways imo. The more frightened of injuries you are the more injuries you get. Lots of players suffer from it especially “ niggles ” and dare I say we just taken one on board well known for it recently..
-
Now this is something out of my black mirror : O’Riley plays league match for Celtic today, gets injured then Saints bid of £23M announced as agreed Monday afternoon. Textbook latter day Saintsy 😁
-
Contrast Celtic with saints. Best player in demand- plays every friendly travels to America scores plays well price rising. Our best player hidden in a cupboard price dropping. appreciate contract situations differ greatly but can’t think that kwp in the shop window last few matches not going to harm us.
-
BTW: Chelsea under Maresca are conceding exactly the same fucking around in the penalty area type goals saints did last season ( and v Oxford). Literally giving opposition free goals and chances like on a death wish. Lost 4-2 to City yesterday and first two goals originated from that. I wonder if Chelsea owners are going to be able to handle the fan unrest when they start doing that in the league and give teams free goals every match? Or will CfC - with better players- make the PBF system work for them in the EPL? RM is going to be scrutinising them for sure as they both play same way out from the back - but from what Ive seen the Chelsea defence and mf are not convincing if you attack them and press high- just like most teams playing saints will feel we’ve got a penalty area mishap in us at least once per game…
