  1. Preface this by saying I 100% don’t want KWP or Jan to leave. BUT if they are not sold then they must get a contract extension. That includes a big pay rise also. Cos what’s the point of resigning on then? Both are starters for Saints - both, I hope, will be keen to make amends for last time around in the EPL - but neither can do that, IMO, without extended contracts. Why? Because fully-committed-to -our-club players prepared to go into potentially career threatening challenges for us - without hesitation - are what we want. And will NEED. Not defenders increasingly concerned about keeping healthy for the next club deal as season progresses. I hope, like with AA and AM we hear about new contracts for those two. But if not. Sell them now.
  2. Interesting stats- and for the punters out there might explain ( and justify) why they are more favoured than us for instant relegation.
  3. I appreciate Will may not currently seem impressive top EPL quality as an attacking midfielder because he’s never done it before at that level but he clearly has had an excellent championship season and developed a great understanding with fellow first team starters like Flynn, AA and THB. I’d find it incredible if he was not a starter v Newcastle and given the opportunity to show he is that EPL quality. Writing “ one of our own” off before he’s even kicked a ball in the EPL is wind up stuff.
  4. They are. Liverpool are having a look. I reckon Saints gonna end up buying someone for £20m - probably o’reilly ( Amf) and renting two other quality £20M+ players for the year ( a GK and a CF ) plus pick up BBD on a loan to buy. At least two/three out of those will be automatic starters.
  5. Great ball - And shows what might be if we had an authentic #9…
  6. This match shows why we need another keeper- for me.
  7. Tyler with the assist. If he is trying to show why we should not send him out on loan he’s made his point for me.
  8. Jeez. We need him on a longer contract. The guy is gold dust.
  9. Tyler’s driving powerful run before that was brilliant…went past I think five of their players.. Maybe six! laid it on to score and we almost scored several times in that move
  10. Tyler is everywhere. Good engine. But B have cottoned on that when he gets ball he will turn and look to run with it. He cannot do that edge of our box as they already sussed him twice on that front putting us in danger. Cut that out and we got an amazing player there.
  11. Nonsense equaliser from fucking around in penalty area. 1-1.
  12. Dibling deflected goal. 1-0 saints.
  13. You are very probably right in that PO (necessarily) gets sold To help pay for a more RM friendly type of player. I’m still dissatisfied with the common judgement on him though. PO is a proven goal scorer. Are we really so blessed with those that we can unload him easily? I guess we will - but I still hope RM plays him today and I still hope he does well. Maybe the narrative will change thereafter.

    Che Adams

Che Adams just received a €1.5 Million signing on fee. Info C/O football Italia. He wanted €2M. He’s 28 and got a 3 year contract at €1.8M per season. Which is about what he was on at saints. Plus performance related bonuses. Saints “ offer” would surely have been the same salary or more likely better than his championship salary. Only issue I can see is : length of contract - we may have offered only one or max two years extension, the €1.5M bung and the “ performance bonuses”. We prob did not want to give him €2M, or even €1.5m. And maybe we were a bit tight on perf bonuses. BUT : In other words Saints offer could not have been all that generous as was made out. Because if the figures I’ve seen quoted is what he accepted at Torino then we could easily have done that if we really wanted him. Apparently his transfermkt value as a Torino player on 3 year deal is now €15M. My ( cynical) guess is Torino hope he scores a few goals early doors then sell him back to the EPL for a nice profit at Xmas.
  15. Interesting. I’d say that it’s probably a coincidence that SR arrange this friendly but then again it may not be. Bordeaux nice connection to have 😎🍷
  16. Collectors item. PO & JL and a football. In Saints gear. Holding hands and Running at same time. ❤️ Some people might think RM has gone a bit too far with the squad love and super-caring for each other thing but I think it’s refreshing. 😍😇

  18. A week in Spain training and playing with the rest of the squad should be plenty long enough to confirm what RM thinks of him. If there’s one player to whom you ought to be able to launch the ball and hope it sticks it’s him. I hope this season it’s not going to be 80 minutes of backs against the wall defending for saints but if it is- he’s probably not the worst out ball to have. IF he can control it and hold it up of course. 😁
  19. Think you’re absolutely right as things stand. In his defence I would say he was playing in a shambles of a side with management & players on a downwards spiral. But he did look BAD. But his time in Belgium and in Turkey says he can score goals - given the service. IF RM is as good a coach as is thought he should be able to create a style of play that’s best utilising his players strengths. Especially service to the #9. In this case Do all the PBF stuff then give it to the finisher. Don’t care if its a chip a cross a pass a one-two or a corner - just give it to the finisher in a dangerous area so he can do what he’s there for. Obviously if you play him and expect him to be in and around the centre circle doing rondo style stuff with Flynn and Will it’s not going to end well. Give it him where his physical and technical attributes are best used- penalty area - and it might be different story.
  20. Tall Paul is on the plane. I remember many many moons ago having a chat with a shy and very tall ultimately successful Saints and England player outside a shed being used as a changing room in a field somewhere in Sweden. He was modest but positive. If Crouchie can do it in the Prem, who is to say Tall Paul cannot? Ok yes it’s odds on he gets sold but technically he is still our player and a #9. 😁
  21. If reports about the Palace winger are true then its odds on Kameldeen or Sam Amo or both are going out on loan ( or sold in the former) and there may even be a chance that the RF loan / signing does not happen either. I can see in salary terms that might work but I’d be disappointed - especially after what we saw from Sam other day and from wee man last season. Kameldeen - a loan do him good. A sale may pay for the new guy.

    Che Adams

I think they have a definitive #9 called Zapata he can play off/with so it may be a nice marriage.
  23. You have to decipher RM words to the press. He uses a language which is readily understandable if you know what you’re looking for. In this instance he as good as said that Lis needs to get out on loan as he is not going to dislodge Alex, also that in the absence of another top goalie Alex is the #1, but that if another GK entered the building that may ( but I interpret it as WILL) change the GK status quo. Given that we wouldn’t loan out Lis only to get a similar standard or lower keeper I think it’s odds on if Lis gets a loan that we’d be looking at a new #1.
  24. Arsenal are buying or bidding for goalies like they going out of fashion. A young prospect and the wolves goalie the latest. Lends grist to the story mill that Ramsdale will be loaned out or sold. Would be very happy if we got him on loan. Looks like a 10.45pm announcement via Sky Sports news deadline day special 📢 🤫
  25. You haven’t a clue have you.😂😂😂😂
