Yes, because they have 2 very very good CB’s who cover for him. As a defender, TAA is rubbish. He can cross and pass the ball, but cannot defend, his positioning is appalling. Howe has completely changed the style in which Newcastle play. Changes like that don’t happen overnight, they take time to embed and build confidence in the squad up again. That is likely why it took 2 / 3 month for results to improve.

This is because Burnley largely play to his strengths of getting the ball in the box, where as Broja largely plays off the shoulder, which suits our style significantly. If he was at Burnley, he’d struggle. Comparing apples with oranges.

This is all relative though. Ralph took Lepzig to 2nd and in the champions league with a side that was far greater than expectation many of which the players have moved on to top clubs. Yep. Nephew to a few of the lads (Masons) who play for for Sholing, for anyone that’s interested in non league football.

And the keeper, Brad Collins, who’s now at Barnsley is a Southampton lad. Having been involved in high level grassroots youth football in the area, you see more Chelsea scouts than you do saints, or at least did 2 or 3 years back. A very wide net and I know saints lost out to them on 1 or 2 players (that I know of, definitely will have been more).
