Also threw in that he didn't bring his own staff. A shame noone reminded him that his previous assistant / brother has proven to be absolutely shite as well. Comfortably the worst manager we've had, pound for pound given resources, in many many years - if not ever.
-
yep, out of the 3, they have the easiest fixture. Which considering its Sheff Utd, is a pretty crazy thing to say.
-
Annoingly, this is now pretty much a must win for us if we want the home advantage in the play-offs. With that in mind, strongest side possible. I think all of April and Saturday will finally catch up with us and we'll get beat in this one.

It would be very, very 'saintsy' to lose a tuesday night game at home, against a mid-table side with nothing to play for.

The Probably Boro but Hopefully Second Leg at Home Chase

Possibly not. WBA are due to face a points deduction which might keep it open until the very last game. -
Piss poor, once again. I thought Albert done well and of course Lehmann carried the innings, again and the tail dug in (which is a sign of how good the pitch is). However, Gubbins isn't a 2, I'm not conviced Prest will ever make it in red ball, Brown isn't a 5, Yusuf is giving Brett Hampton a run for his money in the WTF overseas category. Destined the drop this season and deserve every part of it. Hopefully it see's off Giles White and Ben Brown.
-
I do also wonder if we will finally start to see the benefits of the 'multi-club model' In theory, Spors should have e2e remit now and can potentially spot players coming through the french leauges that might be of use to us in the future

For me, Larin starts more often than not. Not because I think hes the better player, but because playing stewart every week is incredibly high risk given his history. Both offer us something slightly different. Larin more physical, Stewart a bit better all round player. Exciting.

yeah update my orignal post

11 in all comps, 10 in the leauge both achieved in 2011. * We're currently on a 7 game winning run, 6 leauge 1 cup. *according to chatgpt **Looks like Mboto's answer was more accurate!

famous last words, but away from home ipswich are bang average. -
They were all the chairmans fault, not his.

To be fair, I wouldn't disagree with any of those from a manager point of view, other than perhaps the fella at Boro - all punching above their weight being in the top 6. Nailed on for Lampard, but Neil and the geezer at Hull have done a brilliant job.
-
I don't disagree at all and tried to call that out in my final sentance. We were always going to fail in the PL under Martin which made the contract extension even werider (can only assume it was something previously agreed). With a couple of smart additions at LB, CB, right wing, CF - we'd have more than enough to compete to stay up.

Tough game. They're a decent, well coached side. As Blackburn will be on tuesday as well. However its worth pointing out that Derby have a few injuries, most recently confirmed Agyemang and will be without BBD, so it'll be a bit of a make shift forward line. That being said, we've played sides ravenged with injury before and it didn't work in our favour. The next 2 will be make or break if we want to make top 2.
-
The problem is, it'll be a total rebuild if we fail to go up. I'd still want to see how he performs for the first half of next season, whether that is in the PL or Championship. Both will present different, but equally as difficult challenges. We rushed in to giving Martin an extension and it came back to bite us on the arse. I would however say that I think Tonda would be much, more suited to the PL than we ever were under Martin and you'd like to think SR have learned how to build a PL side and wont make the same mistakes again.

If Sky Sports Plus - does that mean that its the god awful comms where they're not actually in the ground?
-
Other than Peretz, THB, Bree, Azaz & Scienza we can swap out anyone and be equally as strong - which given the fixture pile up, we'll have to do. Downes and Charles as a pair in the middle for me tonight. I'd probably start Larin, Fellows deserves another game. Scienza has to start, but we only tend to get 60 minutes from him anyway. Its then a toss up of Stephens or Wood, Manning or Wellington?
-
Its been an almost perfect easter weekend of us, so no doubt we'll lose this one. Wrexham are a strange team - Doyle and Moore aside, I don't think I'd pick any of their squad to get into ours, but they are a proper football leauge outfit. Still in with a sniff of the top 2, remarkably, but will need to essentially win all of our remaning games which is a tough ask - our run in isn't the easiest.
-
I do wonder how Still would have done if we'd started the season with Larin and Stewart as our 2 options up top. I do susepect it would have been better. He was given a duff hand with Downes and he simply couldn't adapt to having Armstrong as a lone number 9.
-
Comfortably, pound for pound given resources and expectations, the worst manager we have ever had - at least in my living memory anyway.
-
Sulemana would have been on the radar for the top clubs by now if he'd signed for a decent, solid and stable club like Brighton or Brentford (instead of teh basket case that is Southampton FC).
-
Should be a game in which we dominate possession and can play a slighlty more attacking side, whilst giving a bit of a rest the starters who've played consistently for the past few weeks.. i.e Bree and Downes. Pertez Jelert THB Stephens Manning Charles Jander Matsuki Azaz Scizena Larin

Momentum and consistenty also plays a hugh part. Wrexham are a club on the rise with a consistent baord and management structure. We couldn't be further from that if we tried. -
Based on last season, Burnley and Leeds won c. 60% of their games. No unfeasible that Tonda could finish the season with a similar record. Lets also not forget that good manager that Leeds have needed 2 bites of the cherry (as was beaten by a Russell Martin side 3 times in one season). I'm not convinced Tonda is the right man for us long term. I suspect we'll have a new man in the dug out this time next season, but to rubbish his record, when he came in when we were looking more likley to go down than fight for play-offs is nonsense.
