  1. What's he like with his feet? In all seriousness, Bazunu is a key part of our build up and replacing him with someone who can't pass (i.e a McCarthy type) would be as detrimental as keeping crisp packet hands Baz. We need someone who is competant at playing out and can actually make saves. I don't know who that would be 😃
  2. I suspect its more Tonda not wanting to give much away a day before the game. Bit poor of Alfie to break the news so early tbh.

Even further back, I walked away from the first pre-season game at eastleigh thinking "Fuck me, we struggled to break those down. That wasn't great". I gave benefit of doubt given it was the first game and clearly the squad was going to change. Things didn't really get any better though.
  4. Special shout out to Vegard Forren who is somehow still playing, aged 37, in the norwegain 3rd division.
  5. Now we have what seems to be a half competant manager, I'm relatively comfortable with the squad we have. I think I'd only really be looking at a number 10 as competition / back-up to Azaz - i.e a replacement for Aribo. Ideally I'd like a keeper to come in - probably a loan as the Ramsdale situation has caused us issues. I think we have a relatively decent balance up top, now we seem to have found a way to make A.A a complete striker. I'm keen to see what Downs could do under Tonda. Main focus has to be on out's Aribo & Edozie will hopefully find a club wanting to take them. Bree to Charlton permantly. Matsuki probably needs to go.
  6. Linked with 2 jobs in the space of a few months. No smoke without fire. Does he want out or is he trying to push for more responsibility (i.e I want Tonda, appoint Tonda and trust my judgement). Despite what some might say, it would be a disaster if he leave this season - I think he's about as good as we could expect to get for where we are as a club (at this level or the next).
  7. I think if we don't come out of these 2 games with a minimum of 3 maybe 4 points would suggest that we've not played very well.
  8. That's it for me as well. QPR was a pretty poor performance (only had 1 day with the team so let him off), Sheff Weds was a bit better, but still pretty poor (again, next to no time with them). Charlton was obviously brilliant. He still has a bit to do for me, Leicester is his first real challenge.
  9. Tomorrow is make or break for me, I think. Its a bit reactional, but if we don't come away with something (or put in a performance that deserves something) then questions need to be asked. On the flip side, if we put in a really decent performance then I think you probably need to give him the gig - even if its until the end of the season.
  10. A good thing imo. Gives space to players like Azaz and Fellows and arguably armstrong.
  11. The last time we were in the championship, we won 3 games on the bounce on 4 different occasions. Lets not let the fact Will Still was the wost manager we've had in probably 30 years (maybe more) deflect from the fact a team of our quality, budget and size should be beating QPR, Sheff Weds and Charlton on the bounce.
  12. If this happens, Eckhert deserves the job, no question. It'll be his first actual test, lets see how he fares.
  13. Becasue we were in the PL where the level in significantly higher and our players aren't some of the best in the leauge. We went what, 24 unbeaten in this leauge last time out. As I said, its not that much of an achievement.
  14. The last time we were in the championship, funny enough. Its really not that much of an achievement.
  15. I think I'd rather stick with Eckhert than risk someone like that. At least Eckhert has experience at this level, all be it as an assistant. I've pretty much said all along, Eckhert (and in this case Strobl) could end up being brilliant managers and everyone has to start somewhere - however after the issues with Still, its a gamble imo we cannot risk taking. That being said, if he keeps winning, its impossible to not give it to him. Lets judge after the first real test in Leciester, tomorrow.
  16. I think you're confusing this mob with someone who has any kind of strategy.
  17. He's experienced at this level, worked with (and got a tune from) 2 our our attacking players who've looked lost to-date and, I'd assume, wouldnt do some David Brent esque rallying call when he first meets the players. That alone would put him ahead of hungry eyes for me.
  18. Exactly why we have to go for a big name in this case. Carrick or Ole would have been perfect - give hungry eye's the gig as assistant if they want to bed him in.
  19. isn't the whole point / benefit of a multi-club model that you can let players / managers gain work experience in a less intense environment? Yet they seem to be continulously using our status to buy players for that turkish mob.
  20. Absolute cowards. Desperate to give him the job but don't want to face the music. Will give it another month and then say "noone was avalible" and he has it until the end of the season. A year wasted. Get these idiots out the club.
  21. You can see Ankerson's face on the front of a book in Waterstones already. "Rassmus Ankerson - How taking risks changed football"
  22. I hope so. I've always thought after the failure of appointing a risky, young, manager with limited experience, to go out and appoint another young manager with less experience than the first is exactly what we need. He might be the next Mckenna and everyone within SR can pat themselves on the back and dine off it for years to come.
  23. My heart says I hope they're waiting for Corberan. My head says they're doing all they can to give TE the job. The real worrying thing is that, despite it being obvious for at least a month that Still was out of his depth and would need replacing, they have absolutley no contingency planning or candidates lined up. Incompetance.
  24. They're clearly desperate for it to be Tonda

If they appoint Eckert its the final straw for me. We're a complete mess and need a strong head to steer and steady the ship for a season or 2. Eckert might be the right man long term, but its setting everyone up to fail if they appoint him now. If this goes the way its looking, its time to seriously protest. Lowe levels.
