Maybe - They'll have a good side, for that level. They'll be up there as favourites for promotion (along with us and ipswich). That's not because of Russ. If his previous record is to go by - mid-table other than finishing 4th, once, in what most perceived as 3 horse race - we have nowt to fear.

If the validaton If, a big if, the valution is correct - surely its Solak looking for an additional investor rather than selling the club. Afterall, he would have lost Kraft
-
Its a world cup next summer. There is absolutely no way Ramsdale is playing in the championship. 0 possibility at all. The only reason he came to us, was to get game time, to get back into the England squad.
-
We wouldn't have been promoted if he was in goal all season. Terrible goal keeper.
-
Ipswich are going to comfortably win the championship next season. They have a brilliant squad for this level.
-
Are they any better then? Not convinced. Arguably, they could be worse than us in the PL next season.
-
Valery getting some good reviews at Sheff Weds this season as well.
-
He's really not any good is he. When is that Aussie fit and ready to go? Not that i'm convinced he's going to be any better!
-
I don't get the animosity towards Jones, if i'm honest. He was offered and thrown into a job that he couldn't refused (not his fault) and he was clearly out of his depth. He's very unpolished and says some silly things, but wears his heart on his sleeve, which is something we're crying out for in this squad. He was never going to be a fit here, but hes a competent championship manager for the right club.

We'd have lost under Martin, without a shaddow of a doubt. They have a style that would suit playing against that kind of system. As much as it pains me to say it, Moschino is doing a brilliant job and players like Murphy and Bishop are dangerous players. Hopefully someone comes in a takes a punt on Moschino at some point in the near future.
-
Agreed - Leeds aside, we come unstuck any time we played a half competent side.
-
its not really though. Copper isn't a hipster choice. SR are all about hipster choices.
-
The contract situation with Josh Brownhill is something we should be keeping a close eye on. Burnely captain, experienced at this level, experienced in promotion, only 29. I suspect he'll probably have offers at a higher level, but would be a great signing on a free - should the opportunity arise.
-
You're probably right. In reality, if there was a sniff of him coming back, it'd be a loan. Anyhow, mute point, its not going to happen.
-
He was incredibly overrated by our fan base. Free-kicks aside, he was our equivalent of Mark Nobel. Limited ability but a hard-worker. Downes has had a poor season, but I'd don't think there is a huge gap between the pair. That being said, I'd jump at the chance to take him back next season, if it came up.

BBD has scored 3 in 15 games at Sheff Utd, under a manager who managed to get a bit out of him in the PL. Adam Armstrong has scored 2 in 12 at West Brom, under a manger who managed to get a load out of him last time he managed him in the championship. Archer has looked nothing short of absolutely useless whilst playing for us. Doesn't suit being a lone striker (similarly to Armstrong and probably BBD as well), which 99% of managers will play. I think you're in for a big shock if you're expecting 60 goals from the 3 of them. We need a number 9 and we need to spend big (in relative terms) to get one. Personally, I hope we manage to shift BBD and then for me, its keep 1 sell 1 of Archer and Armstrong as they're similar players, imo.

I can't help but feel like the Rohl link is just his agent getting his name out there to drive a better deal with whatever club he signs for.. I.e us. Would be ridiculous gamble from RB, who aren't short of cash, to take a punt on such an inexperienced manager.. Especially after RB salzburg were bitten by appointing that assistant from liverpool. FWIW - I've got all my eggs in the Rohl camp. Put his name forward as a someone to potentially look at before we appointed Martin and I think he's done a brilliant job under farcial circumstances at Sheff Weds. Make no mistake, based on player ability, they're a L1 side without him. I just think he needs a step between a european club like RB and where he is atm. We'd provide a good stepping stone for him and a good year or 2 with us and he'll be jumping clubs like RB. Failing Rohl, Cooper would be a safe pair of hands. Not the most exciting, but would be on board with that - Honestly just cannot see it happening though..
-
Becuase that is the fee that Sheff Utd supposedly agreed to buy him for upon promotion.
-
I can't see that being the case. Who on earth would take the role with the squad you have and the nutcase you have in charge..? Not saying they'd follow DR, but you'd have to be desperate and/or stupid to take the plunge at Sheff Weds right now. Although I suppose you could say DR took that plunge and its worked out alright for him.
-
It would. He's an absolutly awful footballer. 3 goals in 15 games for Sheff Utd this season. Much better out there for the 10 or so million we could get for him.
-
If Sheff Utd don't go up, we could very feasibly end up with AA & BBD in our front 3 next season.
-
If you think things are bad now, please do re-visit and give us your thoughts next season.
-
based on the stuff you post on here - lets hope we avoid like the plauge

Realistically, we'll almsot certainly lose; Dibbling, Ramsdale, Fernandes, THB & KWP - You'd like to think that they'll bring in a minimum of £80m. (Average out at £20m a head with KWP leaving for nothing). With a substantial amount of saving on salary in the case of ramsdale. I'd imagine that Sulemana, Tall Paul & ABk won't have the stomach for a championship season, so they will go - wouldn't be surprised if it was on loan. Then you have people like Larios, Bednerak, Sugawara, Archer, Aribo, Downes, Manning, Wood who I could also see leaving if we get interest and other clubs are willing to pay up. This could easily featch us another 20-30 million. You'd like to think, finacially, we'll be in a similar situation to that of the last time we went down - but we will have a few glaring gaps we'll need to fill. We'd be sensible to use the loan market, much like the last time - just less loyal to them if we get promoted. A few I'd be keen for us to take a look at; Broja Sainz - would be a massive statement. However massively unrealistic. Ben Doak - Given Sainz is unrealstic, a loan + option to buy would be a good deal. Good replacement for Dibbling. Jack Clarke - If Ipswich are still keen on Downes - is there a deal to be done with Clarke coming the other way? Josh Sargent - Old school number 9. One of the best strikers in the championship imo. Previously played in Germany, so you'd expect Spors knows about him..? Callum Doyle - Left footed CB. 3 previous seasons in the Championship on loan (from City) at Cov, Leciester and now Norwich. I wanted him the last time we went down. A loan + option? We're going to be short of goal, a very minumum, we're going to need to bring in a number 9 and a creative player behind him - a winger or number 10. I think we're a proper CDM short, especially if Downes leaves. and we'll need a new GK and RB as I don't have faith in Bazunu or Bree over the course of a season. Something like this as a core squad I'd be pretty confident (depending on the new) ; GK: New, Bazunu, McCarthy or Lumley RB: New, Bree CB: New, Stephens, Edwards, Wood, new, LB: Wellington, Manning or New CDM: Downes, Charles, new CAM: New, smallbone L/RW: Armstrong, New, Edozie, Fraser CF: New, Archer, Stewart

Disgustingly underrated manager. Mainly becuase he's ugly as fuck and doesn't play propaganda football. For any side hunting for Promotion or a newly promoted side could do a hell of a lot worse than appointing him. Nothing pretty, but sets the side up to gets points, not praise from hipsters on Twitter. Unfortunately I can't see us moving for him - would be a good candidate for Leeds if they don't go up or Ipswich if Mckenna moves on.
