Great to have won but they better not give the job to Eckert if we beat Wednesday…
-
How many more times are we going to have to sit through this Baz crap.
-
I just can’t fathom that Spors looked at the strikers and thought they were good enough. Terrifying that he is now tasked with picking the next manager.
-
Bazunu back in. Jesus wept.
-
At the point in time Selles was appointed we were not dead and buried. He was another coach “highly rated” by SR who won one game and got the job. SR didn’t “give up”, they tried to be clever and cocked it up. Let’s not pretend there isn’t a chance they do it again with Eckert. Might be unlikely but it’s definitely not zero chance which, to be clear, it absolutely should be as it should have been with Selles.
-
I know that but he also spent £30m to replace him rather than wait for him to regain fitness…
-
Not a random journo. If Ornstein is saying it then there must be something in it. I can’t believe they’d appoint him but, then again, I never thought they would appoint Selles off the back of one game…
-
To be fair, by the end I think even Russ had realised Bazunu was crap…
-
This is SR’s Glenn Hoddle moment… Alfie House says he’s not well liked within the Club hierarchy, to be honest I’m surprised by that as I always thought SR wanted to keep him but we were so bad in the PL that it wasn’t credible…
-
If they appoint this guy then you have to wonder if the Club is being actively sabotaged. I can’t think of what more you’d do if you actually wanted us to get relegated.
-
It’s hard to imagine a worse signing and that really is saying something.
-
Christ I hope not. Just when you think it can’t get worse we get Nivea in charge.

Honestly. The sooner we sack this bloke off the better. Another who thinks he’s way better than he is.
-
He was terrible but if we were going to play 3-5-2 we shouldn’t have bothered buying him.
-
Christ.
-
He was woeful the Championship last time, folks just had short memories as he was unexpectedly less crap in the PL.
-
Would be suicide but wouldn’t put it past our ownership.

It’s the manager’s job to get them performing. The vast majority weren’t playing last season, they are broken by how crap we’ve been this season. That’s on the manager. Why does he persist with this ridiculous formation?!
-
I don’t get how this always happens. He should be a proven player in this league but looks barely a footballer. Doesn’t help that he’s always played out of position.
-
Whatever Still is building i don't want to see it. Going down playing like this and with this setup. Sorry that it hasn't worked but he has to go.
-
Precisely. We signed two of the most productive players in this league last season and neither of them can get in the team because our manager chooses to play a formation that requires both of them to play out of position. Will Still said that he wanted to play 4-2-3-1, we bought players suited to that system and he ditched it after one poor performance at Hull. It’s not all his fault, of course it isn’t, but we should be doing considerably better than we are. The fact we aren’t is primarily on the manager.
-
Carrick would be better than Still IMO. He has shown the ability to get a tune out of Azaz and Archer. Is he inspiring longer term? not really but he’s better than Still. No chance SR appoint him though, too mainstream. Wouldn’t touch Gerrard as you say.
-
The fact that Capt’n Jack came on and we conceded twice tells you all you need to know. He’s a player that goes missing in the big spots. How he is captain and how he was rewarded with a new contract after his behaviour and performance in the PL I will never know.
-
McCarthy is crap but he’s still miles better than Bazunu which says it all. They’d have equalised far sooner today if Baz was in the net as he wouldn’t have made the earlier saves. Complete and utter failure of recruitment.
-
Agree with you. We will end up with that Eric Ramsay bloke from the MLS. This season is a write off, just got to hope we don’t go down again like Luton. What an utter shambles.
