  1. The problem is, after every game since he took over I say to myself "that's it, we're down". I then convince myself that there's a lot of closer away games to see in the Championship so it won't be too bad to be relegated. Then by the Wednesday, I start thinking if we go down this time, it might be a while until we return to the Premiership and by the Saturday the hope is back. And the hope will be back before the Wolves game next Saturday 🤞And you're right, it kills you.
  2. All's not lost. We still have that run of winnable games starting mid March of Man U, Spurs, West Ham away and Man City! Anyone know Dragan's mobile number? Does he come to the games to see where the money's been spent?
  3. Given who played today, I'm guessing he'll play his mate at right back and Bednarek and Salisu will be the centres. Don't think that's too bad, but Adams needs someone up with him. The beanpole? I'm expecting him to pick him or Sulemana as starters because surely by now he's realised that Ely and the others he inherited aren't first team material. Going for:- Baz Bree Bednarek Salisu Perraud Lavia Alcaraz JWP Edozie Adams Onuachu And a 0-1 win to give us hope. Sadly, I never bet against my interests (and lost a lot in the process!).
  4. So am I right in thinking his future tactics will be to play 5 at the back, everyone hoofs it forward to the beanpole in the middle who will lay it off to those clinical finishers.....oh, Che and AA? I sense there may be a problem.......
  5. As someone said earlier - ungrateful little prick!
  6. Watched the game on TV and even the commentators said the away fans were making an unusually loud noise. All credit to you. Personally, I don't mind us giving the away fans seats behind the goal. It adds to the atmosphere. Given how far people go to Newcastle, have always thought they're disrespectful giving such shitty seats to away fans.
  7. Presumably he knows NJ's system. Mates rates. What's wrong with Lavia?
  8. So super tall. Wonder what type of football NJ is after? With our mega fast winger, just need to go off to elocution lessons 😀
  9. I remember a 17 year old Walcott being mega-quick. Hope this guy just remembers to bring the ball with him too!
  10. So with Gorgon off to Newcastle, could we now ask £35m from Everton for Che? 😀
  11. Got to agree with all this. All Diallo did when he came on was cause a fight; I saw Moi push one of their defenders in the penalty area when we had the ball (doesn't that thick tit learn anything), and sorry but Aribo...despite the song, I've stopped believing. Thought Lavia had a good game and Perraud and Lyanco were ok and hey ho, the treble is still on
  12. Has scored 7 goals for us. How many has AA scored?
  13. Which is why I'm expecting them to put out their first 11. Still think we have a better chance than the 5.9 betfair odds.
  14. I can see that happening too 🤐
  15. Too true. But just seen Bednerek's premiership record. Scored 7, own goals 3, errors that led to goals 3, so that's +1.....so he's about the same chance to score for us as AA or Che.
  16. But it's more than just saving the one that goes in. Every time the opposition cross the ball, it's heart in mouth time.....and that's not us fans, that's the defence as well. You just know he's going to flap at it. Flapper Baz did a couple yesterday and it seems to happen every game. As one poster said, yesterday's game was the difference between the two goalkeepers.
  17. It's difficult isn't it? Didn't see much from Alcaraz against Everton but he practically just stepped off the plane and the alternatives are such cack.
  18. You can also wait for them to come out after the game. I remember seven/eight years ago waiting with my son for the players to come out post match and he got a lot of photos with the players in the squad. Many of the more willing were the those on the edges of the first team, but looking back, it's good to see photos with the like of McCarthy before he became first choice keeper.
  19. Haven't Villa just signed that Chicago Fire striker, which would mean Ings could be a little closer to the exit door?
  20. So what were his big tactical changes? All I saw was 4 at the back and a proper press. So it's Ralph Version2. Baz's long hoof was still there but this time we chased down that second ball. Great thing is the effort by the players has demonstrably increased dramatically. They seem to be playing for him.
  21. What was interesting at Palace in the first 20 minutes, which my son pointed out, was to see NJ waving his arms so frantically that it looked like he would take off but none of the players seemed to be paying any attention to him. Still don't blame NJ entirely. Why can't the coaches work on direct routines/one touch football that creates opening/shots or draws fouls just outside the penalty area?
  22. Totally agree. Stuart is bang average but when he comes on, hope levels go up. That says so much about the rest of the team but sounds like he needs to be rested and now it's time for others to take up the mantle and be more direct. Maybe Alcatraz will help us do the The Great Escape!
  23. Better today with 4 at the back and the more organised press...and whatever Adam Armstrong had at half time, can he please not be so greedy and share it with the rest of the players! But I think AA's goal was still the only shot we had on target in open play, so there's a long way to go. But the half time penalty shootout was top comedy and worth the admission price alone. When the 11/12 year old Palace goalie,, Alfie gave it large to the Saints fans after saving a dribbler from our six year old striker that barely got to the line, the chorus of 'you fat bastard' from thousands of Saints fans was one of the few times the chant was fairly appropriate!
  24. Got 50/1 with Paddy Power at NJ being the next PL manager to be sacked. Looking more likely by the day. As someone said, what's worse: the signing of Lyanco or someone that picks him each week?
  25. Totally agree. A lot of bluster and chasing down the second ball after the long hoof from Baz, but there's no real cohesion. Felt we had a chance to win once S.Armstrong came on and we became more direct but then the substitutions send out the message we would play for a draw. We can't have Che up front on his own and what's the Croatian Caleta-Car done to offend the management? He looked vaguely competent against Lincoln and surely better than Lyanco.
