Exactly this, my concerns too. Lots of first half possession and only one goal to show for it against effectively a L1 standard opponent who equalised with their only shot on target at that point.

We were warned about this being Martin's style of play. It annoys the shit out of me that we seem to consistently hire managers who lack the flexibility to have more than one style of play. What happened to assessing the strengths and weaknesses of your players and adopting a system that suits what you've already got, rather than buying in players who play 'your way'? Granted, I'm not sure what some of our players strengths are, but forcing poor ball players to play out from the back is asking for trouble and inviting pressure.

What worries me is that a good manager assesses what he's got and implements a system based on the players at his disposal. We seem to persist with recruiting managers who have a set way of playing and then throw players under the bus when they can't adapt to 'their' system. Plus once their system becomes known, other more adept managers change tactics to outplay them.

As alluded to, it only be a preseason friendly but they're a Turkish Division 2 side and we look no better than last season. Offer next to nothing going forwards and so many players with a guaranteed fuck up in the locker. What the hell have they been 'working on' in training because this is like a continuation of last season, all fart and no shit
