  1. He needs the win bonus to fund his gobshite missus now too.
  2. Steady.. You don’t want to alienate yourself from half this forum now, do you?
  3. I said he deserved a shot at the Premier League just for acheiving promotion even though his football is boring and predictable. I thought ten games would be fair. I’ve seen enough now though. We are wasting time that we really don’t have. I don’t want to wait until it’s too late for a competent manager to save us from the drop. Thanks for the “memories” Russ, but you’ve got to go now! 👋🏻
  4. I enjoyed Chelsea-Forest. Forest looked competitive and the game could have gone either way. The prem is only shit if you’re not competitive.. Like us.
  5. Exactly what i got, unfortunately.
  6. Shock goal was a nice feeling.. but didn’t last very long. Archer off the mark is a positive. Other than that, same old shit. Getting very boring losing week in, week out.
  7. I know, perhaps I was a little optimistic.. ...It’s just ridiculous to think we’d score 2!
  8. We win 2-0. “Russell Martin is a football genius” echoes around the Emirates stadium for 90 minutes from the ecstatic, jubilant away support. Russell Martin punches the air at the final whistle accompanied by Lucy in her painted on Saints kit, Earther Kitts bouncing freely in the glorious London sunshine. Dragan swoops over the South East corner of the Clock End in his helicopter to shower the delerious Saints fans with £50 notes bottles of Dom Perignon 1955. A party ensues in the away end the likes of which the Woolwich outfit have never seen before, and Mikel Arteta gets on his hand and knees and bows down to the man who reinvented football for the modern era. We Are Southampton FC!
  9. Bambi in a carthorse disguise.
  10. i know an egotist that is stopping me being interested in football. Hopefully he’ll be sacked in the morning.
  11. What a shower of shit. RM out now!
  12. Unfortunately we’ve got no choice with the players we have. I like some of our players though and think, with better direction, we could survive this season. A fresh start under a manager that isn’t afraid to try alternative ways of playing might be just enough to keep us up.
  13. He’d probably be a good fit at Saints though if we have ambitions of solidifying our Prem status again. I don’t see him as a top 6 manager. He’s a bit over-rated in that respect in my opinion. Did a good job with Brighton and got them a top 10 finish.. once (i think). Got a shot at Chelsea, who admittedly were a basket case at the time, but couldn’t make a difference there and had the worst win rate of any recent Chelsea manager. I’d swap RM for him now. Get him in SR!
  14. SSDD 3-0 Cherries 75% possession, 100% borefest. xG 6, aG 0. xGA 0.03, aGA 3 Bottom of the League by 10pm. #Wesleepwalkon
  15. Mine was shit, we threw away a 1-0 lead. How did your match end?
  16. Playing the whole game in our own half might have something to do with it..
  17. Score in a brothel….
  18. i read somewhere that he doesn’t play CF
  19. Apparently he’s got 2 week knees!
  20. Expected loss. Nothing new here.
  21. We’ll look good for the first 30 minutes of every game while the opposition sit back and wait for us to shoot ourselves in the foot. As soon as we threatened, MU upped their game and took control of the game with ease.
  22. 2-0 Saints. Russ changes the system to face the mighty United. They have all the possession and we hit them twice on the counter with some fast flowing direct passing football finished off with an Archer brace. Everyone's elated! Next week we revert to the same old Dickball and get pumped by Everton, Ipswich and Bournemouth.. but we beat Man U so everything's ok.
  23. This. View from the Itchen too. A lot of grumbling within the crowd about the pointless passing and slow build up. If things don’t change soon, there will be a backlash and fans will become more vocal.
  24. Lucy?
  25. Frustrating game again but we have to face the facts. The team that played the last three games were basically the team that scraped promotion. We were the worst of the promoted sides so it stands to reason we would be the worst team in the Prem.. and so far this has proved to be correct. RM’s comments after the game were alluding to the fact that their goals happened because of our mistakes. True enough, but ALL players make mistakes.. It’s where those mistakes happened and why those mistakes happened.. which were both down to RM’s philosophy and tactics. I, for one, do not enjoy watching the way we play under RM, one side having the ball in their own half and playing in front of all 11 opponents for 80 minutes makes for a very boring game and only leads to disappointment when we eventually lose it and the opposition score. Then knowing full well we’re not capable of scoring goals at the other end to turn any deficit around leads to more frustration. We are three games in but, after the transfer window, now have a slightly improved squad from those available last season to choose from, of whom a few of the players haven’t yet been briefed on how to play, let alone had any time to train. RM has a short break now to introduce his new recruits to Russball. He has earned the right to his chance as a Premier League manager and painful though it may be, 10 more games with new recruits should be enough time to see an improvement in this team. If RM cannot adapt or implement his style on these players so we can see his brand of football is working in this league, then I think we can all say that he was given a fair crack of the whip and it would be time to look elsewhere. SR should be looking at a back-up plan now anyway.. even though we all still live in hope.
