Fraser as a squad option is fine. He’s better than Edozie right now and enables him to go and play regularly in the Championship, which he really needs to do. He’s totally ineffectual at PL level right now sadly Puts more experience and character in the dressing room too, which it definitely seems Russ values

Asked a friend who lives in the States and watches a tonne of MLS for his reaction: He's good. Like really good. England youth international but speaks with a real strong American accent, which is pretty funny. Says he isn't anything flashy but he stands out as a very mature, composed centre mid. Good range of passing, plays some great deep passes for wide players and forwards, just very tidy and high IQ for his age. Worth a trial for an English side to see how he stacks up against their own young players.

New England's season is likely to end in two games (too far off to make MLS playoffs, I think) so they will be in their off-season until March time. So this is a glorified trial for the lad and we just have to make a decision by the end of January as to whether we're going to buy him or send him back

Being reported that an unnamed Premier League club (understood to be Nottingham Forest) came in for Ramsdale after seeing Saints agree the deal with Arsenal, but Ramsdale's agent told them he wasn't interested because he'd already spoken to Russell Martin and said he was coming

Ramsdale: "I’m delighted. The way the manager was when I spoke to him. I’d never met the manager before but he made me feel about eight feet tall."

Our club record signing has signed the contract dressed as Hagrid

This should be imminent

Just seen Ornstein correcting that it's not £40m for Toney, it's £33m - considering the talk of what they'd get for Toney if/when they sold him... that's low (granted contracted situation and they got 1yr of extra PL status by keeping him longer)

Chelsea and United making progress on a deal for Jadon Sancho, apparently. Will require Raheem Sterling to go somewhere... Arsenal? I'd take him on loan if I were them, can't see them buying him though
-
Ornstein / The Athletic: Arsenal reach agreement with Bournemouth to sign Neto on loan, medical on Friday morning - which will allow Ramsdale to complete permanent move to Southampton

Cornet really likes cutting in and shooting from outside the box, heaven help him
-
Plays RW, LW and LWB. Should mean Manning heads out now Cornet was also used up top by Burnley at times
-
Cornet is a great player on his day, capable of winning games single-handedly and a good goal record from out wide. From what I understand he was a Sullivan signing and Moyes never wanted him
-
Went on a scoring run at Arsenal just as his deal was up for renewal and Jesus was injured. Very fortunate, never a £100k striker
-
Had a medical with Palace, who have committed to spending £30m on him and picking up his £100k a week wage
-
The other three England keepers are #1s for Everton, Palace and Newcastle - being the Saints #1 gives him a platform, in comparison to sitting at Arsenal and simply not playing
-
I think someone at the Guardian suggested it was due to some Achilles concerns after conducting the medical
-
There isn't one? The bid was only accepted last night shortly before the game and he only travelled down this morning to start the medical/contract signing/media duties part of the process?

There goes Trabzonspor's alternative for Onuachu
