Interesting section from that article: "But despite the positive tenor of yesterday’s commentary, the prospect of an orderly restructure for the insolvent club remains as remote as ever. Indeed, the Daily Telegraph can reveal that the £3.4 million parachute payment from the Premier League, received last week, could paradoxically increase the threat of liquidation. The funds are currently being used as working capital to keep the club trading into the season. However some creditors may seek to wind up the club now in the knowledge that, due to the Premier League windfall, their dividend would unusually be greater in liquidation than through a rescue."

It's okay, the club will pay those.

Good luck to Coventry who have easily replaced Southend for the love-in. My first game was against Coventry in 1985 and my sons first game was the promotion game this year, so I to have a soft spot. Have to say your team and fans behaved with great dignity given what a shambles SISU have proved for you, in another life that could have been us! Good luck in L1. In the same way I always looked for Huddersfield results last year, I will be doing the same for you guys this year - especially at Fortress Fatpipes.

The big news from the FL is they will let them start the season in administration. All the rest we knew. In a perverse way I hope they play ok against against Bompey, their Chairman might be tempted to issue some subtle comments.

If PKF want to fund a promotion challenging team of mercenaries on the tick, let them. It will **** off their league peers and run up more debt, making the trust's job more difficult by the day. The inevitable pop is getting bigger and bigger.
-
We'd tell them that in the taxi, but come morning it would be a different matter.

I think Clyne and Davis are great deals, Jrod one for the future. Which teams do you think are better?
-
I am disappointed we haven't strengthened at CB yet. Our transfer activity and squad is relative to our peer group in the lower half. I don't think we have done any worse than Reading, Wham, Swansea, Norwich et al - just not very inspiring if we are serious about being long term players in this league.

You neglected to mention the local council, but yes that's the attractive proposition they will be selling

Please can all the nutjobs congregate accordingly in The Lounge.
-
I will expect Birch in at Centre-back for Saturday then.
-
Wow, that is great going by PKF in that case, Birch might win an a Honourary Nutjob Award at the end of this.
-
Maybe I am completely wrong here, but how has Birch's fee hit £2m? That is the figure Pompey Pravda and the knuckle daggers are throwing around, although at the creditors meeting I am sure Birch stated the PKF fees would be circa £700k. I presume the remainder circa £1.3m was actually the money that PKF paid in to keep the club afloat, (the 5k per week for players that wasn't deferred) and paying staff to run the club. So it's not like Chinny is haggling a discount on fees, he is asking them to take a haircut and give him credit terms! Breathtaking if so.

Yes, let's wait until she really croaks.

I'll have a wager I hit the 'Infract' button less than you hit the 'Report' button. Interested to know where I show bias? PM me as I am would hate to take this thread off-topic

Dear Pompey, If you wish to avoid large Administrator's fees, simply avoid going into administration. Best Regards St Chalet

If I used my common sense I would ban you.

Glad to see Westwood has the required qualifications to play for the Skates. http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/northampton/hi/people_and_places/newsid_9133000/9133246.stm
