Thanks for everything Oriol, it didn't work out on the pitch this season but I am sure your influence and professionalism were a big part in our recovery. Club legend of recent years!

Overall a solid stint at the club. One of those blokes who was not a great number one and probably too good (expensive) to be a number two. If he hadn't have come in for Baz in 2024 we'd have never have gone up.

Players released https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/mens-retained-list-published-for-2026

No comment on Bree on that list is good news.

At least his family sacrifice would have been worth it.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cqx1wqr3yjno This on top of their massive 6 point deduction. In the article it suggested we were considering a legal claim along with Forrest.

Steven Davis reminded me of the players we signed in 70's and 80's, a solid Pro who brought balance and experience to a young exciting line-up. Was luckily enough to meet him at the Awards Dinner at the end of 'The Poch Season', top bloke.

This forum got George Burley the Scotland job, make it happen chaps!

I hear Ross Stewart is a free-agent. Looked good for Southampton last season.
-
I’ve pinned this thread. Literally the closest George Long will ever get to the banner or a starting position.
-
Also worth pointing out that international football is a part-time thing. Maybe you’d have 3 or 4 games in that time. Equivalent to a two week ban in the EFL
-
If there was release clause the agent would have leaked it, like Scienza’s team have.
-
We will either extract top money or he won’t be going.
-
Assuming we lose Stewart, Archer or Downs, who would you like to see rotate / or play with Larin next year?
-
Risky thing for Ross to do. His muscles and internet are both measured by their ping time.
-
He doesn’t owe us. It’s business. If he pops a knee in the next couple of weeks we won’t be signing a deal. He will lose everything and his agents will lose 10%!of what they could have earnt. With Larin signing the risk for us is much less than his as of June 6th 2026.
-
The irony is. We’d pay a greater transfer fee rather than a sign-on fee for Ross.
-
Disappointed if he leaves because we saw 6 good months out of 36 we signed up for with him. Like everyone else he will have options. Hopefully he signs up for ‘The Last Dance’ with everyone else.
-
Stewart will go or stay. I personally hope he stays. The issue is we've clearly screwed up our option on him. We will have made him a fair offer, based on his clear ability but also his injury record. The Larin signing is also crucial becuase he will know that minutes will be managed and his career can be extended. He'll either end up 3rd or 4th striker for a Prem team, 2nd fiddle for a relegated Prem club or pumping out major minutes for a middling Champ club.

Hinting at a shit sandwich?

Let’s bump this thread. Interesting to look back on the reactions when he joined.

Getting Last Dance vibes. Just need to keep Jordan, Pippen and Rodman.

Best keeper we've had since Niemi - "unfinished business" love this.
