In anticipation of our fishy friends appearing in the press in ever greater frequency over the next few days there have been some requests to move the epic 'Portsmouth Takeover Saga' thread on to the main board. The main board is reserved for Saints chat and requires registration to browse. The Lounge is publically available and we even have a few Pet Skates join in. There is a bit of a Nutjob clic but we are very welcoming of new members. It's been going for 3 years and in that time we have gone from L1 with -10 to Prem League, they have done the reverse! I discovered The Lounge because it was here. I also think it has developed a cult following and enabled some Skates to take part as well, I genuinely think we have had a better quality debate / campaign as a result. Maybe we can advertise the thread on the main board.

Hope they get liquidated soon, we need to plan the PTS celebration evening. Looking forward to 'Toasting' their demise. We need a flash venue we wouldn't normally be able to afford with some over the hill rockers as entertainment. The kitty will be funded on the basis of £1 per post, although in homage to this thread we will reduce it to 20p, then to 2p and finally accept it will be 'Bring a Bottle' and held in the parks.

It seems that the Football League have kept their powder dry, watched the situation unfold and then given Brian Mahwhinney a call to find out how it should really be done. All I can say is, wow. The Football League has not only hit them for the current situation – they have covered their next sneaky moves as well. I genuinely cannot see a way out for the Skates now other than liquidation or the Football League backing up the truck. For those feeling sorry for them, don’t. I'd move to South Africa, indeed been taking Hutch's counsel on it for a while. I am quite fortunate that we own a property there and could live there for a good while without needing to work, see my kids grow up etc. I am worried about how I keep my handicap high to maintain my bandit status as I'd be forced to play every day. So I have a straight choice, keep climbing the greasy pole to a 'C' level position in a big UK company or semi-retire. Reading the Whitey thread on the main board puts it in to perspective.
